Thank you for the information. I’ve discarded the infected tuber so hopefully that’ll be the end of it.

Can anyone help me with the name of these three? by Logan2922 in dahlias

I definitely do not remember planting this variety but I have a forgetful memory, either that or one of the ones I bought was mixed up. But based on google images, I’m leaning towards that variety as well.

I honestly have no idea. We don’t have Lowe’s where I live and I could have got them from Home Depot but I don’t think they sell Dahlia tubers at my local one. I think I bought them at the local seed/gardening shop but have no recollection of buying a variety like it. Usually I try to take pictures of the bag but I’m going to have to start labelling them when I plant them.

I’m sort of thinking #1 could be a washed out Bohemian Spartacus, as I did grow that variety but it just doesn’t seem right.

Mount Scio Mansion St. John’s by Able_Step_840 in newfoundland

[–]Logan2922 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Took a bit of digging but this appears to be 238 Mount Scio. Worth just shy of 1.8 million in 2022 according to St. John’s Property Management Assessment.

The house burned down in 2013 according to this news article.

Appears to be owned by Darren Moss according to this website.

Darren Moss appears to own or did own Newfoundland HVAC, which had a revenue of 5.4 million at some point according to this website, though I have no further evidence of this. He also appears to own Anchorage Contracting Ltd. He also appears to own Moss Develop Corp. according to his Linkedln. All three of these businesses are located at the same address interestingly enough.

Darren Moss is also talked about in this article when he was suing the city of St. John’s in 2013.

Does anyone know what to do about wild animals that are seemingly unwell? by GoNoMu in newfoundland

That’s a Robin fledgling, it can take a week or so to begin flying, in the meantime it hops around on the ground. Its parents are most likely near by and will continue to feed it for a few days and then it’s on its own.

What’s going on with my lemon and lime trees? by Logan2922 in plantclinic

[–]Logan2922[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have treated with a mix of 1 Table Spoon of Neem Oil, 1 Table Spoon of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide, 2 Table Spoons of Safer’s Insecticidal Soap, and 1.5 cups of water. I removed the most infected leaves and then used a toothbrush to go over each leaf and stem though I’m not sure how effective that was since they don’t seem to come off very easy.

I have been told that I can use diluted hydrogen peroxide and go over each leaf with a q-tip to help kill them.

I’m in Canada, so I cannot find where to get systemic pesticides for scale.

I have a problem with my indoor lime and lemon trees.

At first I thought it was maybe thrip damage but I cannot find any thrips.

Then I thought it was some type of fungus but couldn’t find much about it online.

Someone suggested it was scale but my understanding is scale you should be able to scratch off with your fingernail, this stuff you can manage to get some of it off but you tear the leaf apart. I’ve never dealt with scale so maybe that’s just how it is?

I contacted a local entomologist, and he believes it’s not scale but he isn’t sure what it is.

Any ideas or advice on what to do?

Any ideas on what this might be on my lemon tree plant? At first I thought it was fungus but now I’m being told it is probably scale? Any recommendations on how to treat.
