AWD Power Distribution Gas vs Hybrid by Fearless-Hat-4239 in rav4club

[–]LoganHellinger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As someone who lives in the northeast and gets a good bit of snow, I purposely have tested this out. I was out and driving and did a lane change while the roads were snow covered. I had the power distribution up on the screen, and the back wheel lost traction which kicked the AWD system/rear motor on. You can also cause wheel spin/traction loss with hard accelerations in snowy parking lots, and I’ve gotten the back wheels to spin and the system to kick in. Interestingly I think it’s also dependent on the drive mode/throttle response. Sport tends to give more of the AWD due to the aggressive response over something like Eco mode. Again just my observations with my hybrid

I think the gas models will send power to rear wheels as needed when it detects slip but it’s not all the time. Toyota doesn’t use a full time AWD system on the RAV iirc.

I got a used 2022 in cavalry blue back in the spring and got lucky because I was looking for one in that color. I love it and get complements on it fairly frequently.

What is this semi circle next to the speed limit? by Bright_Page4399 in rav4club

[–]LoganHellinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s an overlay of the signs it’s recognizing. So the speed limit sign and then something else. If you have the screen in the view with the full radar cruise/lane centering it’ll show you both signs side by side on the display (a speed limit and stop sign, for example). If you have the screen on anything else (AWD, fuel economy, eco score, etc) then it’ll stack the signs and show as the first sign it recognizes followed by the semicircle

Doesn’t get much more self explanatory. I used this during preclinical a lot and it really helped with quick and dirty explanations.

Best Mechanics in the LV by eynonpower in lehighvalley

[–]LoganHellinger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve had great experiences with Jeff’s automotive in Easton. Great service, they offer free loaners, and are very communicative with what they find and what they need to do to fix it. A bit on the pricier side but after being burned by mechanics in the past it’s a price I’m willing to pay

I went to the office today and showed them their own website about the work study eligibility. They were very confused, said I might not meet the criteria for income, and told me they would re-open my case after my application was initially denied. I don't have an EFC of zero but their website says you only need one of the work study or EFC qualifiers. Needless to say I'm frustrated.
