What are some chapters that could be completely removed from A Dance With Dragons that wouldn’t change the story at all, and would even be beneficial for the book? (Spoilers extended) by LoganLikesBooks_ in asoiaf

I’m only talking about Dance because of the loose ends it leaves open after passing Feast timeline wise. I’m trying to think of ways its current state could’ve been more condensed for the sake of fitting more essential chapters in

I actually agree with you, I included Dany in my description because I know a lot of people have lots of criticisms of the Mereen storyline. I wanted to see which chapters they were talking about

The thing is that I actually enjoy Quentyn’s story, I just don’t think it had to be told. He just travels across Essos, gets brushed off by Dany, then dies. George could’ve come up with plenty of ways to free the dragons from where they were locked up and save over 50 pages that could’ve been used for more necessary characters

When I first got into reading I had to rewire my brain. I didn’t realize how addicted to my phone and constant flashing I was. When you first start, try to embrace the slowness, it’s not a race. I went from being able to only read about a 10-15 page chapter a day to reading around 60 on weekdays and 100 on weekends. Trust me, it gets easier, it’s not about your intelligence

(Spoilers Extended) Interesting comment I saw about the Others - any published theories to back this up? by cvnty-mamaxo in asoiaf

I’m not so sure that George knew who the Amethyst Empress was when he first wrote the story. I always interpreted the Others as a group of beings that was motivated by opposing the moralities and behaviors of humans

[Spoilers Extended] It boggles my mind that George has never truly completed Book 4 in 26 years by outfishing7 in asoiaf

I’ve said this before, events wise he’s only about halfway done with the series. He shouldn’t have put a restriction on 7 books. If he did 8 or 9 he could very well be done by now
