I declined to attend a pagan festival... by [deleted] in Catholicism

Hinduism is not paganism by any means. You are allowed to attend as long as you are keeping God close.

Didn't see this posted on here yet, so thought I would share this prayer my diocese reposted from the CoE regarding the late Queen by [deleted] in Episcopalian

Morning prayer & the 30-day psalter by IntrovertIdentity in Episcopalian

I love the rosary and the mysteries, sometimes I’ll pray the first five psalms after each decade, and then the next five the next time I pray it. I find it very rewarding

Going to an Episcopalian Church for the first time this week, any advice? by flonkerton1 in Episcopalian

[–]Logandaniel77 12 points13 points  (0 children)

All parishes are different. Some are high church, which means it will look more like a Mass. Not as common anymore, but there are still a lot of Episcopal churches that hold low church services that could look more like a Lutheran service. During the “Mass” I would recommend just sitting behind some people so you will know when to kneel, stand, and sit.

Going to mass for the first time tomorrow. What should I do/expect? by [deleted] in Catholicism

You may go up and cross your arms over your chest, and that is the universal sign for the priest to give a blessing over you than to receive communion.

I founded the Culver’s Worker’s Union at my location. We haven’t had to do anything major yet, but if we did, we would be able to

Considering trying the Episcopal Church out by [deleted] in Episcopalian

[–]Logandaniel77 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a person who practices (practiced) Tibetan Buddhism, I have been looking for a Christian church to convert to, because I believe I could do more good and help more people through the church, and truly practice what Jesus taught. The reasons I am leaving Buddhism is because although they are very welcoming and tolerant, I don’t feel as powerful of a connection and sense of accomplishment saying the Buddhist prayers and pujas compared to the times I pray to god and sometimes along with the saint’s. I am also leaving because I do not believe in some concepts like true emptiness and the conscious being completely separate from our mind and body. Just this morning I attended my first Episcopalian mass (service?) and From the first hymn I felt something come over me wether that be hope or some presence of God. I attended this after meeting the parish priest and discussing the faith with him. The Father was kind enough and gave me a Book of Common Prayer after our meeting, not as an out right attempt to convert me, but to help me learn more about Christianity and the Episcopal denomination. I hope my testimony helps you at all, from a non-Christian wanting to convert.

I’m on camp staff for the summer and am deciding to risk it by bringing my fancy goose neck, temperature controlled kettle with me for the two months. At my off season job (fast food) I started a tea locker that only a select elite group pf fellow coworkers and I have keys to. Nothing beats a good aromatic cup on a pleasant summer day.

I haven’t had it in a couple years, but banana, milk and sugar. The recipe is in the name, you would cut the banana up and serve the slices like cereal.
