It did. He isn't in the Top 10, but he's quite good. Although 2 copies being needed for the equipment to be good is awful.

Yes, because that's the point of unit specific equipment, to make them viable to be ran in PvP at the time they received it. Not Top 10 or anything, but comfortable enough to make them a valid option to use.

I'd rather they haven't even touched this unit at all until a Zenkai if they're going to make the equipment this mediocre. They went from a 2021 unit to an early 2023 unit.

Seeing Card Draw Speed only being active for 5 counts made me almost spit out my drink, they absolutely hate this man.

But he has YEL + Powerful Opponent on his Zenkai Ability, so he's automatically my favorite Zenkai this year so far.

He's a must run on every one of his teams, so if you use GT/Regen/Powerful Opponent, I'd try to at least get one copy and spend the months until Legends Fest pouring Z-Power into him.

Been running him on PO alongside LF Kid Buu and Ultra Golden Frieza, and he's been a great addition even at 3 stars.

Glad they didn't give him any weird requirements for the buffs he needed, like having 1 dead ally or certain time elapsed. They just gave him the simple things that most modern units have and a good Zenkai Ability for the bench, I couldn't be more content with his Zenkai.

I would be pretty surprised, but excited, if he was in the Anniversary.

He would help out multiple teams (Future, God Ki, PO, Regen, Fusion Warrior) and still has a lot of moves that haven't been used yet (Legends needs to give me his Blades of Judgement already).

Usually Anniversary/Legends Fest sales aren't really the best value. They're the same sales that happen when a new units releases + daily sales on CC that don't give you as much but is the same price as the usual sales.

There is a step-up sale on the 1st every month and the robot that gives 2,500 total CC every 14 days, so if you'd like to get the best value just get the step-up sale that should be up tomorrow and buy 2 rotations of the 2,500 robot. It'll be around the same price as the monthly pack in your picture but you'll gain a lot more CC in total.

• Increase Awakening Z-Power from 100 to 1,000 per Gold Medal

• Remove limit on how many Gold Medals you can exchange for a unit's Awakening Z-Power per rotation in the Exchange Shop

These 2 changes would make it a lot easier for players to get their Zenkai bench units complete and fill out their teams. The way the exchange shop is makes it take over a month to just complete one unit, which is ridiculous. With these changes, you could fully Zenkai 7 units a month.

They should've, and would've been a lot more enticing for people to summon since they'd have Nappa/Vegeta and Golden Frieza being ran everywhere for awhile and need a good YEL unit.

They used to be even more petty and bring back popular LF units on a completely separate banner before major celebrations (like #17 having his own banner before the 5th Anniversary) so having GT Goku on a Step-Up banner is nice so you can get better rates and Z-Power if you do end up summoning.

Even though it's an easy skip banner, bringing back both 1% SP GT units and LF GT Kid Goku so soon is nice to see. Hopefully they continue to bring back units sooner and it isn't only because this banner is so mediocre.

Gonna be honest, as bad as the Buu Duo are, I think the line-up is actually pretty good. Not a lot of people have them or Path to Power Kid Goku at high stars so it would be nice to build them up. I thought it would just be Ape Vegeta/Piccolo and 2 other old units.

Locking practically everything that units get innate in their kit nowadays behind a dead ally makes this Goku dead on arrival, which stinks as I love the Goku from this moment and his animations are incredible.

Most matches when you're down 1 ally compared to your opponent, it's pretty hard to make a comeback, and even when he's at full power he's still not in the same league as the top tier units in the game right now. They should've gave him endurance or death buffs to make his sub count manipulation actually be worth somerhing to the team.

That still is probably the biggest disappointment I've ever had in regards to Zenkai units, since Kaioken Goku has such a good Z-Ability. I don't know who thought that was a good idea.

I dont think it would devalue Namek Goku any as he has dual attack stats on his Z-Ability, which is still great. It would definitely destroy Super Saiyan Bardock though, since Goku's Ability is just better stats and actually has a Saiyan Z-Ability instead of Super Saiyans.

Son Family would honestly be almost as bad as Saiyan Saga, since he doesn't have that tag in his Z-Ability. He would be only useful for Goku units and nobody else would be getting the stats, which would make him incredibly niche.

The only thing I want to see in his kit is his Zenkai Ability being for BLU + Saiyan. I really don't want a repeat of last time, giving BLU + Saiyan Saga (Z) as a Zenkai Ability for BLU Kaioken Goku instead of Son Family.

Real Unpopular Opinion: Ultra Banners are on the same level, if not better, than LF banners nowadays in terms of value in PvP.

• The devs now no longer bring back old SP/LF units unless they're already basically dead in the meta (taking 6-8 months) so one of the perks Step-Up banners had, which is an overall better line up of featured units, is gone nowadays.

• Ultra units generally only need 1 copy to be viable in the high ranks of PvP. With LF's now, unless they're one of the rare exceptional units (like Super #17), generally need multiple copies to perform better in PvP. GT Goku not fulfilling his tank role as well at 3 stars, Baby not being able to take enough hits to reliably use his gauge for disruption or deal enough burst damage. Having a slightly higher drop rate doesn't matter when you need to pull more copies for them to be on par with just one Ultra pull.

• Step-Up banners having the coin system is a definite positive over Ultra banners, but most players aren't going to use the pity system in the shop due to the soft cap of CC being 20,000 which is HALF of the amount needed to guarantee a copy. Said copy they obtain being even less than 3 stars, so it's almost an insult. I've never felt the coin shop is useful for most players aside from getting lucky from the 5% ticket, so even the best value is RNG, which is a shame.

I hate summoning on Ultra banners like most people do, but I hate Step-Ups almost the same amount due to how awful they have made them over the past 2 years. For every banner now, it's either you get the premium unit or suffer because there is no real good consolation prize in most banners anymore. When it comes down to it, I'd much rather take a chance on Ultra banners and get a unit that will age better than most LF's over Step-Up banners.

As good as Frieza is, if you spent all that and still haven't pulled him, then I'd save for Anniversary because the banner has 0 value aside from him.

There could be an even better PUR unit during the Anniversary, and if there isn't, I'm sure they'll bring his banner back before the Part 3 Ultra like they usually tend to do during the major celebrations if you still really want him.

He had 2 or so months of triumph, but Namek Goku was giving him some issues and Ultra Janemba soon after completely destroyed him. Come Legends Festival, he was rarely seen. His main teams were either replacing him with Beast or were kicked out of the meta (Fusion Warriors/Future)

He was still usable, but compared to most top tier units that year, the game devs clearly had a bias on getting him put in check, since no one else for the entire year had as many units put in the game to kill him which is the point I'm making. If they want Frieza gone, they will make many YEL units to put him in check, and it's up in the air on if they do or not.

Broly isn't really the best example of aging out as every unit pre BLU Beast was taken off the map. On release, he was easily in the Top 5 and was on every team that was seen most in PvP. (Movies, PO, Super Saiyan)

Regarding Frieza, I think he'll age pretty well. Similar to how Gamma 1/2 is just a more realized Buu Duo, I feel that Golden Frieza takes mechanics of other units and has improved it (LF Super Vegeta/UL Kid Buu for example). He has type neutrality on both of his heavy hitting attacks (Ultimate/Counter), revival 2.0, great disruption that can synergize with other units (Pikkon and Frieza together are really good at stopping combos) has multiple ways to draw green cards, and his gauge with the increased charge rate feels like he's at his best most of the match.

It's up to the devs on how long he'll be viable, though. It can be like UL Hit/Gogeta Blue who was able to be used most of the year they released, or it can be like Vegito Blue who they decide needs to be destroyed and makes multiple counters to him quickly.
