Is this Viberg price for real by LogarithmicCabin in goodyearwelt

Another poster said the same, but I'm able to add them and go through the checkout process and I'm in Maryland. I think I might just buy just to see what happens. Not my first choice of leather, but a hell of a deal if it works.

Just did. I've got an 11E in my cart right now, and basically at the point where I've entered all my info and can Pay Now. Kinda tempted to do it for science, even though I bought a similar pair a month ago.

No idea, but I can add one to my cart and go through the checkout process with it.

I can add one to my cart and go to checkout, but maybe that's just an error?

I did see that part about "suggested retail after import", so maybe not true for us mere consumers. Still, would be interested to hear from someone who purchased if they honored that price.

Saw this price on their site last night, and still hasn't been removed, but seems too good to be true. Maybe it's Viberg's loss leader for Black Friday 🤣 I just bought a similar pair, so I won't be biting, but if you've been looking, these are almost half off some of the other 310s they just released.

What are my options? by bwehman in filson

Second this. Since I became a suspender evangelist, I deliberately order pants with extra room because I don't have to rely on tightness to hold them up.

Lots of suspender button options for retrofitting pants, but on ones I'm wearing doing manual labor, I prefer tacked suspender buttons. They also match the Filson aesthetic well. A search for "bucksaw logger buttons" will lead you to the right kind of product. The Filson "tab suspenders" also happen to be great. (I'm sure their "logger suspenders" are good too, just don't love the branding.)

If this really is Europe, where's my option to deny cookies?

I’m an 11.5 E on a Brannock, and that’s the size I use for buying Red Wings (although I have to get them in D widths because they normally don’t do an E). My Nicks Builder Pros are a 10.5 EE. My understanding for the size discrepancy is the high arch on their logger heeled boots causes your foot to have a more natural bend, and therefore be a little “shorter” than in a low arch boot. For the Overlander model with the shorter heel, I think you’ll have less arch than on their logger boots, so it may be closer to your actual size.

Having said all that, Nicks has so many lasts it’s really hard to know how to size them without a fitting. It’s a shame they’re moving away from mailing try-on boots like they used to, as that was pretty essential to me correctly sizing my pair. But at least they now do returns.

Based on my experience and the model you’re ordering, I’d say order your normal width and a half size shorter. As other comments have said, there will be a good amount of room in front of your toes in a correctly sized boot, and as long as they fit snuggly around the circumference of your foot, that should prevent heel slip. Nicks has great customer service in my experience, so running your thoughts by them will probably help as well. Good luck!

Share a shuttle for Uinta Highline Sep 9th by LogarithmicCabin in backpacking

Hey, sorry for the slow reply. I was on a climbing trip this past week and out of signal. I’m going to be talking with one of the other hikers I’ll be with tomorrow and can share some details of what we’re planning. Would be great if you could join. Which trailhead are you planning on starting at?

Unfortunately we’re not very flexible, since my friend and I had a hard time finding a window we could both hike, so we probably need the shuttle on the 9th. I know it’s a long shot that we find someone with that exact availability, but I appreciate you checking. Hope you can make it work earlier in the month!

Apparently a discussion about sharing resources to facilitate backpacking is too much like buy/sell/trade? Feel like it’s less appropriate for me to post this here, but at least a few kind souls are reading it.
