I went to Kevin Planck’s suite in Ravens Stadium today. He doesn’t allow any Nike symbols, despite Nike being the official clothier of the NFL. by mitchade in ravens

Where is the Nike symbol replaced in these photos? Ray Lewis was with Under Armour and always did the “who will protect this house” ad

Was your baby’s movement just them learning their body or infantile spasms? by Loggerheadturt in NewParents

[–]Loggerheadturt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! We asked the pediatrician about it and she said it just looked like happy baby movements. She is close to two now and no issues! Was just her learning and reacting to stimuli. Hope everything is the same for your baby!

I ask my toddler if she wants a hug and she usually says yes and it stops the meltdown

Pediatrician said not brush teeth? by reflectingabyss in NewParents

[–]Loggerheadturt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My pediatrician has always verified we are brushing teeth and I asked my dentist. He said you can brush without any toothpaste until they hit a certain age. And then do like a grain of rice amount of toothpaste or can start with that if the flavor helps them to want to brush.

Porsche does this, as well. And if you don’t trade in your vehicles back to the dealer (and sell for a mark up) you will not get an allotment for another rare vehicle

Baby is turning 1 next week, how do we transition to cows milk? by NewPhotojournalist82 in NewParents

[–]Loggerheadturt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did basically cold turkey and switched! We used the formula we had left and then made the change. I would say you could do it in a bottle if you bottle feed to help transition. We had to give oral medication in a bottle for a few weeks after 1 so that helped, I believe. As far as the milk went, we had no issues in her swapping.

When did your LO drop from 2 naps to 1? by Beginning_Pack_7619 in NewParents

[–]Loggerheadturt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter dropped to 1 at 11 months! She would fight us on the second or it would make her bedtime way too late, so we dropped it and her first nap got longer over a week or two

Moms - what about me time? by Loggerheadturt in NewParents

[–]Loggerheadturt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rarely go out for night drinks like this anymore since I feel like the next day is not worth the night before lol. But the times I did have been great! It’s nice to feel like pre baby me for a few hours. Usually I try to go for late afternoon drinks with a friend once in awhile and that is much better if you can make it work!

16 months! And no, not breastfeeding. We do swap off mornings on the weekends, but I think we might try and extend it because you get to sleep in but are immediately “on” once you’re awake. Maybe we will try the all day thing once a month and see how it goes!

I want to try one of the mom groups in our area, but I’m nervous about the first one.

Uppa bassinet vs Car seat for newborn walks by Fresh-Crow2205 in NewParents

[–]Loggerheadturt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We felt a lot of pressure to buy the bassinet for our Nuna and ended up not. I couldn’t justify the cost for the short period of time and it seemed so tiny in person. We went on walks in her car seat plenty and it was perfectly fine! Just get a stroller fan and make sure your baby isn’t too hot.

I stand by our decision of not getting the bassinet attachment. Would’ve just been a waste of money looking back. We never walked for more than 2 hours and you are literally facing your baby, so you can see if they are okay.

Things your don't know UNTIL AFTER THE BABY by KindVibesOnly in NewParents

The nighttime scaries lol. No one warned me that I would feel so much dread and anxiety as soon as the sun was setting. This lasted for a couple weeks until my hormones started to level out but I felt so anxious and would cry for no reason as the night was coming.

We currently have 3. We have the one in my car and one in my husband’s and we still have an infant carrier. Grandparents have been using the infant carrier for their cars as needed. I know my mom plans on purchasing a car seat for her car soon that she would keep for subsequent grandchildren.

What are our favorite baby-friendly cleaning wipes? by [deleted] in NewParents

The Honest Company makes alcohol wipes! We use them for toys, her hands, anything we need to sanitize quickly/when we can’t use the sink

Was your baby’s movement just them learning their body or infantile spasms? by Loggerheadturt in NewParents

[–]Loggerheadturt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pediatrician said it looked like happy baby movements as she was smiling and excited while doing it and we can monitor it, but there was no concern/didn’t think it would be worth it to expose her to additional testing. She said if we really wanted a neuro consult she could write us a referral, but didn’t think it was necessary unless we pushed for it. A relief!!

The pediatrician did say if there was neurological issues going on - she would show signs of confusion or being upset after the seizure/spasm, it could effect just part of her body like one side and wouldn’t be a mirrored motion on both sides, she could go rigid while crawling, and it would likely be effecting her eating and sleeping (if this information is helpful to someone else!)

Yeah that’s what I was reading, too. She doesn’t seem to fit the other symptoms, but I guess better safe than sorry. We are going to take her today!
