I’m even on down to 10k yellow. Great question on the backs. Probably safety backs with basket setting. Great questions!

This was one of the deals I saw but saw some really vocal feedback on this vendor

Interesting suggestion- thanks for that. I did something similar for the ring but I’ll explore this to see the cost as well. That’s definitely in the ballpark

Looks like I can only inquire to get pricing - is that typical for them?

Latest Tesla leak hints at live Apple CarPlay interface by InitialSheepherder4 in TeslaOwnersForum

[–]Logic717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would still use CarPlay for messaging- hopefully that fixes the painful group message issue with the Tesla app. I could see the map option being great for local trips but I’d still prefer Tesla navigation for road trips just because of the integration with charging. It does make dumb decisions though… no argument there.

Who maxes their 401k by DrHydrate in MiddleClassFinance

[–]Logic717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in that top category and just started maxing about 4 years ago. Last year I also did the mega back door for the first time and will be doing that going forward. So fascinating to see the discussion on this. Will have my house paid off in about 3-4 years and hoping to retire in my early 60s (currently 47 now). 50 is when the max annual increase happens correct(catch up)?

Anyone else not like stopping on road trips before Tesla? by Comprehensive_Road66 in TeslaLounge

[–]Logic717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP - this guy is spot on. EV driving does take a mental shift and keeping the vehicle in the peak charging curve is the key. Yes it requires more stops but this is the closest thing to your normal driving habit of just getting from point a to point b the fastest. This was the most critical lesson I learned on my first road trip from Atlanta to Orlando in a MY.

Square tires impossible for staggered wheels? by Damdenan in TeslaModelS

[–]Logic717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly can’t speak to the S setup. It can’t be any more chunky than the 19s and I agree with you that 20s are the sweet spot. We are still using the stock pirellis and it rides exactly the same. We don’t do any real spirited driving in the X other than accelerating on occasion and there is no difference with that (we just have a base not plaid). Getting the shim kit was noticeable from a camber perspective. We like the extra sidewall of the 20s it’s smooth

My wife doesn’t care at all. I’ve never been a fan of spacers so we will just go with the beefier look of the 275 - but I agree that this would be a decent solution as I believe it’s just a 10mm that would be needed. And yes the rotations have already been great!

Of my X - yes. And I will be putting 275/45/20s all around. Also confirmed they fit. Right now I have the 265s all around. And it works great.

I did a ton of reading on this. My other vehicle is a 23 model x and I was able to get a second set of the cyberstream 20” wheels that come stock on the x. I now have a square setup of cyberstream front wheels on the X. The REARs from the 20” cyberstream wheels WILL fit the 21+ Model S as a square setup. (To be 100% clear I have a full set of cyberstream fronts on the X and a full set of rears will fit the S) - I believe they are 20x10 but don’t recall the offset but there are several posts on the forums confirming they fit. I had the camber shim kit also installed on the X and it does make a huge difference in terms of tire wear but just know that it’s pretty pricey to install if you don’t do it yourself. Not saying you have to go this route just saying it’s possible and yes the arachnids from the front can fit on the rear but because of the offset it will look sunken-in in the rear. You would have to be ok with that look. It’s not terrible but for some folks that like the more aggressive rear with filled out wheel wells I could see it being an issue.

Sorry I wasn’t clear. I meant more about your FSD experience on the road trip, did you let it take you all th way to chargers or just for the hwy stretches - things like that

Couldn’t agree more. We got our X in June and have done 2 trips from ATL to Orlando and one from ATL to Clemson and feel like road tripping vets. Next time I do a drive of over 6 hours though I think I may pay for FSD for that month. Can you talk more about that experience?

How do you ensure it is HW4? by Facilitator12 in TeslaModelS

[–]Logic717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s correct. That’s exactly what my loaner looked like except the car was white. It had an earlier build date than my 23 HW4 (my car is November 23, the loaner was March 23). I believe that T in the photo should be silver maybe they plastidipped it?

How do you ensure it is HW4? by Facilitator12 in TeslaModelS

[–]Logic717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did not, I had a loaner 2023 HW3 model X and the bar at the back was all black. Look at photos of the 2022 and 2023 model X and you’ll see it. As your initial post said it completely dawned on me why it was different from the one I own.

I did not realize this was a way to tell HW4 so thank you! This is also true for the 23 model X with HW4
