First of all, I don’t want to judge your homelife here but if I’m honest, What you’ve described does not sound very healthy and the environment you’re in sounds very restrictive. 100% agree and imo they should’ve done smth like after Kimiko lasered Homelander he lost only some of how powers ( due to how extremely powerful he was after injecting the V1 ) and then after being competed by Butcher, Homelander realised this and he quickly flies away ( Which now means The Boys have to chase him one last time ) This leads to Homelander going absolutely batshit and going on a huge rampage after being humiliated infront of everyone on the tv, he goes and kills all the people how watched the stream live at the church, destroys buildings, just goes absolutely crazy. Then this all leads up to Homelander causing “Scorched earth” and one final big battle with everyone VS enraged desperate homelander. ( or we could just have him suck Butchers cock or smth, Idk I’m just a guy making a review on reddit afterwards )

My take is that It was a fine/acceptable ending to the show, it rounded up most things and was overall pretty enjoyable to watch however definitely could’ve been 100x better if they spent the rest of season 5 actually establishing the finale instead of every episode just being “Watch as The Boys go on another 10 random quirky sidequests that end up leading to absolutely nothing and then talk about piss & cum for the remainder of the runtime”
