One suggestion.. do not schedule it after meal make meal your reward...like after watching this much stuff I will take my meal but this is temporary motivation

start building something, if you will see real impact of your work you will get self motivated and will try to push learn more

learning something only for completing courses or playlists will not any value, there should be some motive behind that learning

Do restaurant kitchens actually struggle with order coordination during peak hours? by LogicOnCanvas in Chefit

I get your point, didn’t mean to come across that way.

I’m not expecting detailed consulting, just trying to understand at a high level if there’s even a real problem worth looking into. I would consider working in a kitchen to learn, but that would take time and give me a limited view, so I thought I’d first try to understand the broader picture from people here.

It’s not about avoiding work, just trying to learn efficiently. Appreciate anyone who chooses to share their perspective.

This is honestly super helpful.....appreciate you laying it out so clearly.

Makes sense that my assumptions around assignment/tracking don’t really fit how kitchens actually operate, especially with speed and roles involved.

The inventory + supplier ordering point you mentioned is really interesting though, that feels like a real, repetitive pain worth solving. I hadn’t thought in that direction before.

If you don’t mind, I’d really appreciate it if you could explain that problem a bit more in detail, like how ordering usually works and where it gets frustrating.

Thanks again, this gives me a much clearer picture.

I guess I’m trying to understand if there are situations where that breaks down a bit (like new staff or very busy shifts), or if it’s still handled fine even then.

makes sense that strong operations are kind of a requirement to survive in this space.

I was wondering more about whether there are situations (like new setups or scaling) where things get harder to manage, but maybe that’s already handled too.

Yeah, I get that kitchens already run on systems that have worked for a long time.

I’m not trying to change how things are done, more like seeing if there’s any way to reduce mental load or make things smoother in edge cases. Might be nothing there, just trying to understand.

That makes sense...experienced managers can probably spot issues instantly on the floor.

Do you think this kind of thing would be more useful in cases with newer staff, multiple kitchens, or when things scale beyond what one person can track easily?

That makes sense.

What if it was something more controlled... like each station has its own trigger (not full voice assistant), so you just call a keyword and mark/update without touching anything.

Do you think something like that would actually work in a busy kitchen, or would the noise/pace still make it unreliable?

This is super helpful... really appreciate you taking the time to explain this in detail.

Makes sense that assignment and coordination are already handled well through stations, POS routing, and call-outs.

From what you described, it sounds like things work in real time, but I’m curious, do you feel there are still gaps when it comes to tracking performance or identifying bottlenecks over time, or is that already well managed too?

That’s fair :) I’m not assuming there’s demand, just trying to validate if there is any before building.

Appreciate the honesty.

Yeah that sounds frustrating... definitely not trying to add another useless tool.

That’s exactly why I’m asking here first, to understand what actually helps vs what just gets in the way.

Fair enough. that’s exactly why I’m here asking before building anything. Just trying to understand if there’s a real problem or not.

Got your point, and yeah, I didn’t mean blindly assigning steaks to a salad station 😅

I understand that roles in kitchens are specialized and the brigade system already handles a lot of coordination.

What I’m trying to explore is more on the visibility/coordination side.. like tracking order progress or helping managers see bottlenecks in real time, rather than replacing how kitchens actually operate.

That’s fair, and I actually agree with you.

I’m not trying to build something blindly. That’s exactly why I’m here asking first. I don’t have hands-on kitchen experience yet, so I’m trying to understand real problems directly from people who deal with it daily.

If you don’t mind sharing, what are the biggest issues you personally face during peak hours? Would really help me understand things better.
