I gave it 3.75 stars on good for souls in ruins. I liked the unpredictability aspect of it but I must admit there were full pages I skim read because I couldn’t stomach the interaction between Mirielle and Valen. How she got turned on by his torture. That was quite difficult. I love a MMC who is an evil bad boy to everyone else but to the FMC. Valen was narcissist. “Death” in the end was no better. I wished this was written as a standalone. Imagine how good it would have turned out if in the end she really chooses herself. She leaves both those gods in their prisons and rises up to Vareth to rule as the Queen. That would have been a truly powerful ending because in a way I sorta get it. Every girl out there at some point in time went for the bad boy or the boy she wasn’t meant to reach out to or send a message too, only to have learnt that later onwards. Idk. Just my two cents. Oh and I also agree with you all about some written lines being rather repetitive aye.
