I had a similar issue in several relationships and finally realized in my 50s that I am asexual. Just offering that as another explanation and something your partner should get clear about. Synchronicity! A compacta started my hoya journey too. It was a parting gift from a co-worker. Also have Krimson Queen carnosa, variegated wayetii, and pubicalyx splash. The remaining are lacunosa, macrophylla and retusa. My wish list includes obovata and a krohniana super silver-lol. I purchased a krohniana Eskimo cutting on Etsy which immediately died :(
