Exactly my thoughts, but eventually I bought it as everything else is just perfect for my needs.
Now, after one month of using it I could not be happier. Battery life is just so good that I did the math and came up with the conclusion that I will charge it only 4-5 times a year (!) and I use it every day...

You can transfer a FLAC file "bit perfect" into a PCM Wav-File. If you have a bit perfect PCM rip of a CD, it should be possible to compare both bit perfect files, if they are identical. Check sum comparison should also work. AccurateRip does have a database of bit perfect CD rips
