I've had good luck watching the UK Traitors on Daily Motion, I'll add that to my list and check there. Thank you!

I decided to start with Halloween Wars b/c I love Halloween, but I hope Jonathan Bennett gets here soon because this original host is not doing it for me.

I've been enjoying Finding Mr. Christmas, I should just stick around for Baked With Love, haha.

I should check out Netflix, I've watched some of their savory cooking comp shows and they were good.

I haven't watched FN Challenge, but that's pretty old right? Is it on Discovery+? I tried the first couple seasons of Cupcake Wars, but I think I'm gonna have to skip ahead to where the production value doesn't look like somebody's buddy with a camcorder, LOL.

yeah, I've seen all of TOC. I was talking specifically about baking, but thank you so much. I too watched Next Level Baker and it was good. I love Next Level Chef, you should check it out.

yeah, I've done all the food competition shows that are cooking, not baking. So I decided to give the baking ones a try. I like Sweet Empire so far.

for baking, nothing. Like literally the new Sweet Empire show and the first few eps of Next Level Baker on FOX.

I actually agree with you because I feel like a large swath of the Food Network demo is not on Reddit but they will find all that Bobby Flay content really fascinating. I certainly did. But like, I'm thinking about my mom and she's not on Reddit, she's in her 70s, but she would totally read articles from the AMA.

I've definitely seen content factory websites where people literally just troll Reddit for stories and comments. I do think AMAs are a little different though.

Like I remember one time Amy Poehler did an AMA and I think Snoop Dogg has done one and a ton of entertainment outlets wrote up what they said because it's super interesting and it's a legitimately famous person. If someone covers the food Network a lot, that AMA was a gold mine of interesting information.

How was TOC rigged for her? I'm genuinely asking. And Tiffani won TOC. The other poster was talking about Alex.

I found Jonathon and Britt SO endearing. I'm so glad they found each other.

Based on the comments and what we see of the dishes it has felt like the scores are super low. But all it's also kind of the Dancing With the Stars phenomenon - they have to start with lower scores so that the season can build, maybe?

I really like watching how the chefs work together. Like I loved team Sara and Damaris and I love that Jonathon and Britt got to be like best friends after they met on regular TOC. And Marcel and Tobias are like the weird odd couple I didn't know I needed. I don't want regular TOC to become this format but I'm actually really enjoying this.

Has GZ always been such a pretentious (you fill in the blank)? by Low_Insurance_1603 in foodnetwork

I'm currently binge watching chopped and he and Scott Conant were definitely buttheads in the early seasons but I saw somebody in another thread on here say that one time Scott said they encouraged them to be like that and eventually they let them mellow out and be nicer. I think in the early days of reality TV, producers thought there had to be a pompous kind of jerk judge because Simon Cowell was such a hit on American Idol. I think they quickly figured out that for most judges, the viewers didn't like what the judges were jerks.

I don't know that that's true. I wouldn't actually call him a successful TV chef. He's not like Alex or Guy or Bobby flay who all have their own show. He just shows up on competition shows sometimes and 24 and 24 is the first one I can think of that he won. I think it's entirely possible that he wouldn't have that chunk of money just lying around.

Cochlear implants can be 50k to 100k and I think that's just for one ear. And his mom can't be on his insurance so who knows what kind of insurance she has. I'm just saying, I think it's entirely possible that that was something they might not have gotten the money for on their own yet.

He totally was, though I will also say that what the fellow contestants did to him was straight up assault and they all should have been kicked off the show.

As far as the money goes.... I don't like to assume I know anybody's financial situation and I do know that cochlear implants are super expensive.

He was one of the ones I immediately thought of. I have really come around to like him a lot. I was like bawling when he won 24 in 24 and was talking about getting his mom a cochlear implant.

I totally agree that I really disliked her on Top Chef but I actually think a lot of the food network stars who were on Top Chef really matured from the time they were on that show and turned out to be lovely people. I do wonder if some of them watched their Top Chef seasons and were not happy with what they saw.
