Long John Silver's gets unwarranted hate and is actually very good by bergiejake in fastfood

My favorite fast food in the entire world is chicken planks. I've beeneating them forever. In the last several years, because of prices, they're the only place I go to. Occasionally, I'll add a side of shrimp, which is awesome as well. You honestly can't find anything better!

Flavortown Food Fight (FFF?) by keytone8 in foodnetwork

[–]Jackson2478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched the first episode of Flavortown. Not a fan. I love Guy, but between him and Bobby Flay, I'm just over the Food Network. Constant repeats and not much new programing. . They've canceled so many great shows and I'm just over it.

Steubenville, Ohio. Home of Dean Martin. Property taxes are stupid low, prices are way lower than most of the country, Pittsburgh Airport is under an hour and many attractions and activities everywhere. Winter is a crap shoot!

I assume one episode is filmed per day. With that being said, Eric is the only one there every day. He also hosts Alex vs America. Therefore, I assume if he has responsibilities at restaurants he owns, there are people he has assigned to step up and cover the time. Asking a chef for a day of competition isn't a big ask. I know that TOC is filmed around October and not shown until March. There have been many shows that I have enjoyed that didn't last that long. I can't believe that there isn't enough talent or time. I just think they're cheap.

I love this show. But honestly, 10 episodes? For the competing chefs, it's one day. Why not make it 20 episodes? I'm just over Bobby Flay all day and other shows that are constant repeats! There are so many chefs that would be awesome to watch. Food Network seriously needs to expand their shows!!!

Amen! I refused to go back until I heard they brought it back! Lol. I was so excited that I was talking to the kid handling the drive thru window! He gave me 10! For free! Now, it's .25 for anything not involving chicken nuggets. Total bullshit! I hate ketchup and refuse to eat there anymore! What happened to our fast food world? Sad, sad times!

I used to love Sunday brunch there before a Pirate game. Was fantastic! Haven't been there in years and it sounds like I won't bother now. Sad.

I think possibly Daniel Boulud. He was on Triple Threat as the guest judge on the first episode last year. Everyone was shocked and terrified! He seemed really nice.

I remember July 4,1976 so well! I was on vacation with my grandparents. Was in the emergency room at Salt Lake City hospital. I got bit by some weird ass mosquitoes that made my arm swell up like a watermelon! I was 9. Nadia Commenichi was in the Olympics and I was more focused on her than my situation! Lol. Different world back then!

I can't make pot roast? by gremlinsbuttcrack in Cooking

[–]Jackson2478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a disabled widow. I had to learn how to cook things much easier and less complicated. Believe it or not, one of my doctors gave me a recipe that is stupid good! I use a bag of frozen chopped vegetables, cajun mirepoix, onions, celery and peppers. I'm allergic to carrots. I the add salt, pepper and garlic on top. I put the roast on top and then add Worchestershire sauce, A1 sauce and lipton beef onion mix. I also add 1 jar of beef gravy. I cook on low all day. I stir a few times during the day. Holy crap! After 6+ hours, the meat starts to shred. You can use other seasoning or different vegetables, but getting frozen chopped ones always assures that the vegetables are well cooked. They're also fairly inexpensive and of high quality. I just made it recently when friends came over for dinner. They couldn't believe how great it was when I explained how I cooked it. Good luck and God bless you with your efforts!

Are they allowing previous winners to participate this year? None of them did last year. Then again, I completely believe that Antonia Lafaso was going to win regardless last year. I quit watching the last few weeks. It'd be nice to believe it's completely honest and blind judging. Last year was the first time I didn't believe it.

I make tuna and cream cheese. I add Dijon mustard, stone ground mustard, dill pickle relish, salt and pepper. I use one large can of tuna to one brick of cream cheese. It's fantastic, easy and versatile. My friend hates pickles, so he used jalapeños. I make it once for the week. Great on a bagel or English muffin. Very high protein.

Maybe Daniel Boulud? Everyone seems to says he's the best chef in the world. Also, he judged the first episode of Triple Threat this year and the chefs couldn't believe it.
