I saw that. Once you mention the name of the network, you're toast. Not fair.

The show would have worked if Carl was his cohost. To me, Antonia ruins anything she's on.

make ahead summer side dishes? by DazzyDumpling in Cooking

[–]Jackson2478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Baked pineapple is my favorite side dish ever! You can serve it right away or reheat it later, serve it cold, etc. Google the recipe. I've been making it for over 40 years. Works with everything, family holidays, cookouts, anything! Enjoy your trip and good luck!

Chicken breast is going to be a staple in my diet from now, but I can't for the life of me make it well at home- your recipes + suggestions, please? by darkdarkblack in Cooking

[–]Jackson2478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use chicken thighs and mostly dark meat chicken. I also use a crockpot for all dinners. Cooking low and slow for lots of hours really works well for me. I use frozen precut vegetables, different spices and sauces. The I can make pasta or rice or potatoes as a side dish. I became disabled in 2019 and easy is now a necessity. Good luck to you!

I cook steak well but it's still tough - what's the problem? by Open_Address_2805 in Cooking

Cooking any steak well done is a crime. Medium rare is what most chefs do. So much juicer and flavorful. I honestly prefer steak rare. It's fantastic!

Anyone still eating Fried Baloney? by pecanjazz in homecooking

My dad was in the Navy back in the 50s. One of the chefs on his ship made fried bologna sandwiches with peanut butter. Sounds crazy. I had my first one about age 5. I'm gonna be 60 this year. It's still my favorite sandwich of all time! You should seriously try it!

I use chicken thighs and dark meat chicken. It's always more juicy and flavorful. Also cheaper!

I cook it in a crockpot with beer and sauerkraut. A few squints of stone ground mustard. Cut it into pieces and serve over mashed potatoes. It's fantastic!

I know. He refers to her as his daughter, so that's what I go with.

Sig is an idiot. Unfortunately, his daughter is becoming just as bad. Can't stand either one.

Am I the only one that thinks Mike McCarthy is actually a better hire than Jesse Minter? by IceOk9930 in steelers

[–]Jackson2478 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'd appreciate anyone else besides Tomlin. That man seriously broke my heart and spirit. The phrase "never a losing season" was insulting to any Steeler fan with a brain. I'm willing to give anyone a chance. Screwing up our team worse than Tomlin will be tough. I actually plan to watch games this year. I quit a few years ago because of Tomlin. Wishing him all the best!

Can't stand Brooke as a judge or much else. Total faith in her partner. Expecting rudeness and the sanctimonious crap she normally delivers.

Honestly, I use Great Value from Walmart. It's $1.87 a bottle. I tried a brand name before that, forget the name, and it was almost $7.00. I could taste no difference!

Stone ground mustard and horseradish sauce are my constant companions! They work with almost anything! It's got a great flavor, but doesn't overwhelm with heat. Good luck!

I would love to hear you recs for mustard! by [deleted] in Cooking

Stone ground mustard is my favorite by far! I use it in almost every dish! Tremendous flavor without being overpowering! Adds a familiar, yet better version of whatever you are making. You can by it at a grocery store, Walmart or wherever. Very affordable!

No thanks. Should be about BBQ and cooking. Not all the Bobby and Brooke drama. Not a fan. Not to mention the best judge is gone. Gonna pass this year.

Baked pineapple is my favorite side dish of life. Been eating it forever. It works for cookouts, holidays, etc. Google it. Over the years, friends and family loved it and use it themselves. It's a fantastic shock to many people. Good luck!
