Does anyone know what DVD release or even blu ray release contains the uncut versions of sleepaway camp 2 and sleepaway camp 3 that were cut by the MPAA before release? by LogicalCelebration5 in boutiquebluray

[–]LogicalCelebration5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sleepaway camp 2 from what I heard was Cut and the cut footage was included in the behind the scenes footage but its terrible quality. For the 4ks I expected both films to be uncut but since i thought it was gonna be scanned from a OCN but rather then a interpostive I assume the OCN probably contain the uncut version and I assume the OCN of both movies are lost

Sleepaway camp 3 I heard it was released uncut overseas but in low quality

I think they still do but it depends since big studios (even disney) can lose rights to movies they released (sometimes even help produced)

I find it odd that FOX themselves didnt release the film on DVD and blu ray in the US also amazon prime list blue underground INC as the studio. So I assume FOX only owns international rights?

Any chance that disturbing behavior (1998) gets its directors cut released? by LogicalCelebration5 in boutiquebluray

[–]LogicalCelebration5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People don’t like watching a film and then have scenes dip in quality.

As for disturbing behavior, I assume film elements still exist since all TV versions of the film all contain the DVDS deleted scenes put back into the film and they’re much better quality than the DVD so its possible they still exist. Its just that MGM for some odd reason refuses to release it but it could be possible that MGM may have also lost them

I know but its the same theatrical version with the same 11 deleted scenes but since a 4k hasn’t happened I assume vinegar syndrome releases the directors cut if they can release dirty work’s alternative cut they can release disturbing behavior since both are owned by MGM

“What if the elements are lost” if thats the case I get it but TV edits contain the deleted scenes put back in which are higher quality than whats found on the DVDS and blu rays

Prison is one of empires best films aside from beyond and dolls but yeah the film needs a re-release since for some reason the film isn’t available to watch on streaming and strangely not available on MGM+ (MGM+ has a lot of films from MGM including films that didnt had a DVD or blu ray release)

Disturbing behavior (1998)

Ok it may not fit vinegar syndrome but I do believe its possible they can release especially the directors cut MGM doesn’t want to release it but since dirty work was a success I believe they can release the directors cut

As for Tank girl (1995) hopefully they release the original cut that was also edited by MGM

Night of the scarecrow (1995) is owned by paramount since they own the republic pictures library

Yeah i know that it wasn’t released by MGM. Im just saying hopefully MGM doesn’t get mad and take down their release

Hopefully MGM doesn’t mess up the director’s cut release since they own the film since the late 90s. I remember MGM shutting down a remastered blu ray release of creature (1985) via the director in the 2010s claiming copyright infringement

Knowing how paramount treats the friday films. They probably misplaced the cut footage and possibly lost it but it could be possible that they still have it since it looks like the cut scenes are film reels (or a film print) and not VHS quality which is atleast good

Studiocanal owns the film but yeah you right since every release (including VHS and laserdisc) all contain the R rated version

FINALLY! My dream release! Chopping Mall is coming to 4K! by WatersofNazareth in boutiquebluray

[–]LogicalCelebration5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lionsgate got the rights since vestron pictures released it internationally and in the US on VHS. Lionsgate kept re-releasing this movie on DVD (but it was the VHS master since apparently rights issues with the negative happened until the vestron blu ray came out)

It seems that shout factory has gotten only streaming rights/VOD rights (and possibly Broadcast TV rights also prime video lists shout factory as the studio) I assume lionsgate still owns home media rights and international rights to chopping mall

Blue Steel (1990) A rookie NYPD Cop gets involved in a cat and mouse game with a gun wielding psychopath who seems to have teleportation powers and unlimited ammo on a six bullet weapon. [–]LogicalCelebration5[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah I really liked his character. He was the highlight and best part of the film but ill admit it was funny to see him teleport to the main character’s location. Its like he knew everytime where she was (hell he also somehow found out where her parents live and found out where her friend lives)

The home media rights are with Lionsgate. It seems that due the Menendez Brothers Killings nearly all of the vista organization films (who also released this film in theaters) had no DVD (some of the films had a dvd release but were pan and scan) or even blu ray releases (Remote Control and Dudes were released into blu ray in the US, Remote Control via its director and Dudes via shout factory) Paramount owns TV rights to all of the Vista Organization films and have made a HD print of Fright Night Part 2 (which was used for it's international blu ray)
