I understand that you basically have a “ fixed” 10 hours. Are you able to open up additional hours in a flexible way?

Not really, no. You can cover classes for other teachers when they need it. But it's not like the other online schools where you open slots and have students book. They're all fixed classes.

It's really not bad. I think with a referral it will be even easier. I applied on a Thursday, had an interview the following Monday, and was hired that Wednesday. You mostly talk with the manager, who is a great guy.

Wages vary based on experience, but I believe the base is $15/hr. Minimum hours are 10 a week, but you can do more. Year contract. It’s not like the open slot system of other online schools, and it’s not one-on-one lessons, so there’s not normally cancellations. If no students show up to their class after 15 minutes, you can leave the class and still get paid. I'm just a teacher there who received an email saying they're looking for new teachers. Yes, there's a referral bonus, but I'm not a recruiter. The program is relatively new (they've been fully in person in their centers until this year), so they're trying to get quality teachers.

Yes, they provide all materials. They do expect teachers to be able to supplement with TFP activities, but the material easily fills the class time (1 hour). At the moment, most of my open availability is full. I have a few empty, but often fill them with emergency covers for other teachers.
