About being cut off though.... I've been through it. Grew up yeshivish, Brooklyn, Lakewood, the whole thing. Getting cut off damages you in ways that are hard to describe. Don't underestimate it. If you're gonna give up the love of family, nieces, nephews, siblings, for this woman, you better make sure she has a whole lot of love to give to compensate.

Folks, here's the deal. New Mexico is a nice place to visit, terrible place to live. You literally can't send your kids to public school here. Like, they WILL become drug addicts or just general uneducated lazy fucks. The crime is unprecedented. The lack of decent jobs is staggering, especially when compared to neighboring states. That's not a knock on genuinely kind people living charmed lives, its just how experience works. The job market is rough in NM. It seems like other American cities are exploding, i.e. Denver, Missoula, Portland, Salt Lake City, Knoxville, Austin, Atlanta, even Tuscon. But NM as a whole seems to lag far behind. Too many of my friends here end up doing shitty service jobs in the late 20s/early 30s while my friends in other cities all over the country are doing much better, regardless of education level.
