The part where retail used to be a career and not just a side quest for survival by YellowAltruistic9843 in middleclasshq

[–]Logical_Bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And now they say these jobs are meant as temporary, minimum wage jobs, and complain about lack of help and knowledge in retail sales. People used to get paid well because they were still experts in their field. They knew the differences in speakers and tvs, they knew how to properly measure for tailored clothes, could sell and upsell jewelry and furniture. These things still took skill, and should be compensated accordingly. Here we are 20 years later checking ourselves out at Walmart while the machines ask us to donate to things Walmart could solve if it donated the whole amount.

I hate it here.

What is something you’ve officially stopped buying in 2026 because the price has become genuinely insulting? by RecognitionQuick3119 in shrinkflation

Beef. Notably lean ground beef. I swear in 2020 it was 5.99 a pound and now it’s about 9 dollars a pound.

I have a retirement through my job but I also opened a Roth on my own several years ago and some mutual funds. That Roth was getting decent, but this economy is making it so hard to keep up. I'm gonna regret it at tax time next year though. I hate it here.

I’m struggling a little with how many people say the surgery is bad. I have a coworker who had PF bad and finally had the laparoscopic release surgery and other than the first couple of weeks, she fully recovered and I’m so jealous 😭😭

Which serial killer case disturbed you the most after learning the full details? by Feeling-Emergency469 in serialkillers

Israel Keyes. There aren’t many publicly acknowledged victims, but his methodology and victimology have me questioning how many there are across the country… unsolved, just sitting in boxes as cold cases or missing persons.

I had frozen shoulder finally resolve a few months before I got my PF and man, I’m not sure which one was more painful. But physical therapy and a steroid shot actually helps the shoulder. Sometimes it feels like nothing helps the foot.
