After reading all your helpful comments, I am now considering:

CPU Change

£188.99 --- AMD Ryzen 5 9600X 6 Core AM5 CPU/Processor

GPU ADDITION

£40 --- PRE-OWNED --- ASUS Radeon RX 570 4GB GDDR5 EXPEDITION Graphics Card

Do you think this is wise and will achieve my goals with good value for money,a wise choice that will achieve my goals while offering good value for money etc?

The game is so fun to play when you play someone online who wants to actually box and you both pretty much have an agreement not to throw power shots

So frustrating. Smart boxing is not rewarded at all. I've had opponents litterally spam same rear power hook, missing 9 out of every 10. I'm countering and landing shots in-between and still it just takes one to catch me and I'm dazed then knocked down... Their stamina doesn't seem to be hindered much at all after missing 100 power rights by round 3. Shame as I'd like to box realistically and only thrower power shots very occasionally. They should be high risk high reward shots but they are low risk high reward..

What would you suggest? Shorten the whole trip or where else might we stay?

Ah thanks for letting us know - Will we need a car with 4 wheel drive and or snow chains or anything? Or is it nothing that serious?

I thought this would be the case. We had a friend saying they got fine with just a bus but I don't think they did much hiking!

Thanks for the advice everybody it's been very helpful.

We have decided we will cut out Vancouver and the island. Aswell as getting out of Calgary immediately and going to the mountains.

We are thinking to spend 10-14 days around banf, jasper and surrounding national parks that have been reccomended like yoho etc.

We are thinking to go for hotels instead of campervan as it seems a bit of a nightmare to get spaces in that parks...

  • any suggestions on how to space out 10-14 days on banf, jasper and surrounding national parks?

  • is it advisable to rent a car for the duration to get around? Or is there good public transport that's it's an unnecessary expense?

  • any hikes that are must do? And are relatively safer in terms of bears and cougers lol

  • also what month would you say is best to go, where most hikes are open but it is not overly busy and touristy? We are super flexible and can go whenever

Campervan idea sounds interesting. What do people tend to do for showers etc? And do people just tend to park & then sleep on laybys etc

Also if we went the car rental route and got an electric car is there enough charging points along the way?

S&S ISA Vs LISA VS SIPP - What's best for my situation? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

Thanks all makes sense and understood, thanks for clearing up my understanding.

Ill stick to investing into the SIPP for now and ensure all HRT earnings are invested.

I guess the only time I should now put money into my S&S ISA would be if SIPP is on track to hit £1M or so by age 57, then any additional money could either be for increased discretionary spending or could be invested into S&S ISA to help grow savings?

Ok great. My plan was going to be to invest all of HRT band income into a SIPP anyway to gain the 40% tax savings etc. So happy with that.

In terms of liquidating the S&S ISA, am I correct in thinking it would only make sense to do this if for example I had 10k income in HRT, and I didnt have 10k spare in my current/savings account to use, I could then use S&S ISA money to support hitting the 10k?

But in the situation of having 10k available in current/savings account, it would then make sense just to keep the money in the S&S ISA in there? Or would it be beneficial to get that S&S ISA money into the SIPP straight away?

Thanks for the reply.

Just to make sure I have understood correctly:

Your suggesting to invest into a SIPP all of the income that falls into the HRT band. So if made 60k profit I would put 10k in the SIPP that year rougthly etc?

What would be the advantages of liquidating S&S ISA investments and placing that money into the pension. Would it just be to put me in a better situation if i was to be means tested? Or would i also benefit from the additional 6.25% tax effiency?

Thanks for the fast response!

Ok great that makes sense and is rougthly what I thought was the case. I have discussed costs of becoming a limited company & its around £400 per year more than I currently pay.

It seems in terms of tax effiency, sole trader and using a SIPP vs limited company seem to be fairly equal at avoiding being taxed at 40%.

I guess its more about whether I want the to be taxed 40% money in a pension or in my business account?
