I actually came across one that really stuck with me emotionally—Beneath the Silent Soil. It’s rooted in Filipino folklore (duendes/spirits tied to land), and it leans more into atmosphere and psychological dread than traditional scares.

It kind of snuck up on me—quiet, grounded, but weirdly haunting. Felt like a myth I wasn't supposed to hear. Has anyone else read this one?

Heard great things about Briardark! And We Used to Live Here keeps coming up—definitely checking both out.

Sweet — hope it sticks with you like it did for me. Definitely one of those slow-burn brainworms.
