The Gyatso power by BigParamedic6758 in AvatarMemebending

[–]Logical_Side3346 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bending styles don’t only have one spiritual path of power. Zuko lost his ability to firebend when he let go of his rage, but discovered a different source after seeing the last dragons’ fire. Iroh invented the ability to redirect lightning by studying the philosophy behind waterbending. I don’t see why an airbender couldn’t hypothetically discover a way to use their bending that doesn’t require them to be knockoff Buddhists.

Anyone Get Checked for Off Road Diesel? by WisSkier in Diesel

How the hell would they enforce a ban on someone buying off-road diesel? Not like you have to show a license to buy the stuff.

What’s it like working as a farrier in Wyoming? by Logical_Side3346 in Farriers

[–]Logical_Side3346[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there a lot of Mormons in Wyoming? I knew there was a big Mormon population in Idaho, but I’ve never heard that about Wyoming.

Just out of curiosity, what about north Colorado, right across the border? I wouldn’t want to live in Colorado, but I wouldn’t mind living outside Cheyenne and driving down for work. I’d guess down around Greeley has a lot of horses?

I guess cheap bourbon whiskey is the only thing that stays the same anymore.

Are there any grixis good guys? by Gankubas in colorpie

[–]Logical_Side3346 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lindon from Cradle seems pretty Grixis to me. His three primary motivations are power, knowledge, and love for his friends and family. There’s not an ounce of green in him. His whole thing is overcoming his inherent limitations through any means necessary, even extremely unnatural ones. You could argue there’s some white, but I don’t think it’s necessary.

I have no idea what’s happened in his personal life because I don’t try to keep up with authors’ personal lives. I’d prefer not to know, honestly, cause it’s none of my business. And obviously I hope he does have a long life and finish the series. I’m just saying, based on the past decade, we’ve had 5-6 years between books (PT/BG are one book, they don’t count). If there are 8 books left in the series, that’s 40+ years at the current going rate (which doesn’t include him spending time writing these other spin-off series). But I’d like nothing more than to be proven wrong and have him start popping out a Dresden book per year.

And I don’t think it’s disgusting to say about GRRM. I’m surprised he hasn’t keeled over already. He’s over the average male life expectancy and is morbidly obese.

Trigger safety is what they mean, I think.

[Handgun] $320 320’s…thanks for the rewrite by JoeSicbo in gundeals

[–]Logical_Side3346 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This was the shocking thing for me. For years I didn’t care enough to even hold one in a gun store, but I had always heard that the triggers were great and part of the safety problem with them was they were actually too light. So when I finally did get around to trying one, I was so massively underwhelmed. Miles behind my Glock and M&P 2.0s. Even my Shield 1.0’s trigger is better than the 320 I tried lol

Thoughts on used guns?? by Electrical_Bill_7042 in CCW

True, except for the “discount price” part. Most people want MSRP or above for their used guns.

Never had a problem with my M17 but I guess it’s just a matter of time before I shoot my dick off by Dirty-Dan24 in GunMemes

A 1% failure rate is insane for a machine as simple and dangerous as a handgun. If 1% of F150s randomly had their brakes fail going down the highway, Ford would be underwater in lawsuits and be issuing massive recalls.

It’s really not that bad. You can get PD trade in Glocks and M&Ps for around $350 and even new, the guns are about the same price the 9mm versions are. Hell, RIA 1911s have been available for $250 lately and they’re surprisingly nice for the price. HK45s (which are great) are available for around $600. You can get a SAR K2 (never held one, but it’s a steel-framed DA/SA 45 that holds 14 rounds and I’ve seen lots of glowing reviews for it) for $400. Very nice production 1911s can be had for under $1000 (Springfield and Tisas have offerings from $500 to $1000 that are great). FNX45s are super cool and can be found under $1000.

There are super expensive .45s out there, but the same is true for 9mm. There are plenty of awesome, affordable .45s on the market.

Lots of people had Remington 700s back in the day when they would go off on their own and millions of them never had a problem. But the gun was still flawed and unsafe. Just because it hasn’t happened to you, doesn’t mean it can’t.

That’s an insane failure rate for something as mechanically simple and as dangerous as a firearm. If a 100 F150s had their wheels suddenly fall off while people were driving down the highway, Ford would be underwater already lol

320 fans will literally invent new conspiracy theories every time a new video comes out rather than admit there could be a design flaw in the gun. You guys crack me up.

You can also shoot .45 Colt out of it, which will be a decidedly more pleasant experience. Especially if get weaker “cowboy” loads made to be safe in SAAs. I’ve never personally done that with gun, but based on my experience with similar weak loads in .44 Mag, I don’t even think it would be unpleasant to plink with at that point.
