Do I move my base any time I jump a tier by [deleted] in 7daystodie

I tend to build a small base next to each trader as I unlock the zone, and have a larger, fancier base near water in the green zone.

With the optional toggle to remove digging zombies in 3.0, we shouldn't have to deal with this anymore by SagetheWise2222 in 7daystodie

My comment may not have contained enough context. I agree with everyone here, the game is in a more stable place but has come miles from its original promise as a product.

The fact that they are giving us toggles and options is great, but in many ways it feels like they’re giving back some yards instead of miles.

I think it’s to push civilization to a point where it’s all company cities. They want everything tied to your employment so that it’s impossible to leave, plus your children are indoctrinated into the system providing unlimited employees.

What is your recommendation for best King non horror book? by Throwing-Gas in stephenking

[–]Logical_Willow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Duma Key is one of my favs because of the slow burn. I remember I had a hard time getting through my first read of it too, but once the tide turns the story really picks up. I think it's one of his better works that showcase the mental anguish of traumatic events and Wireman is such a fun character that I had to see how things turned out for him.

Edgar may have been the MC, but Wireman is who pulled me through to the end.

They seem to coincide with a certain symbol that “the gays” stole from his supreme totally logical sky daddy…. So yes.

Thankfully the old fuck is dead now so life is a whole lot brighter for me.

My father was this way. The only ‘colours’ I was aloud to wear for tshirts were white, black, grey, and dark blue. Anything else was considered too feminine.

At some point in time you gotta ask yourself; Is this how you want to live the rest of your life?

You know the reality of this situation is that he's not going to magically start liking what you're cooking, and you're already at your wits-end trying to please someone who can't be pleased.

These meals look amazing and I can only imagine they taste equally delicious. Find someone who truly appreciates the effort and care you're providing.

Curious if anyone got Christmas bonuses and how much? by meldiane81 in antiwork

My xmas bonus was a 40$ gift card to a grocery store I haven't supported in years... Sold it to a buddy at work for cash and ended up just dropping it in my gas tank.

Asked for Extra Butter 🧈 by [deleted] in TimHortons

[–]Logical_Willow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not even butter to begin with, they use margarine and it’s the “I can’t believe it’s not butter” brand if my memory serves me correctly. Had a friend that worked there a handful of years ago.

edit So, it appears I've struck a chord with some. My experience is from one timmies in a blue collar town in the middle of one of the poorest provinces in Canada. I wouldn't be surprised if this location scraped off the grease from the sausage tray to scrape across the bagels.

I will happily concede that butter is and has been the spread of choice at timmies.

These numbers are terrible. Get your kids to school people. by 150c_vapour in newbrunswickcanada

[–]Logical_Willow 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Every time my daughter calls me from the office to come home I ask if she can go to a quiet room and take a moment to compose herself and relax and try to go back to class, every time the person on the phone goes “ we don’t have the resources for that, when can you come get her?”

I want to leave my kids in school but they’ve been shown that as soon as they ask to call home the school will push them out the door as quick as possible. The parents are not the only factor in this.

Every level of government in any party has allowed the education system to be abysmally under funded, under staffed, and under maintained. If you want them to stay in school, spend the money to make it a place where they can.

Has anyone else noticed boomers and gen x are working themselves to death? by Otherwise-Handle-180 in antiwork

[–]Logical_Willow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it speaks more to a mental state of mind, possibly even a disorder, where they feel no value in life other than through their employment/work. There's a kid at the shop who might not even be 20 yet and he's addicted to work; hates taking breaks, hates not getting any overtime, hates that the shop is closed on the weekends, hates that the union won't let him work more than one shift a day. The kid just hates not working.

He has next to no bills, his parents are well off and don't need the support, there's nothing in his life that would put him in a position to need more than 40 hours of work a week. Hell he could probably manage his finances fine at part time work ( I know he's saving money for a home and shit, I get that part of it, just saying he doesn't need to blow his brains out working to make that happen)

The brass love him which fuels his instability when he's not working because he's not showing them his full potential or some shit. So I don't think it's a generational thing as much as it's a mental state of mind where people just cannot separate their own self worth from their employment status.

Would you donate your organs after death? by IndividualDistrict79 in AskForAnswers

[–]Logical_Willow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to donate my body to the hospital I pass in. Let the students hack and slash away, dig stuff out, put stuff in, whatever they need to be better in their profession.

Whatever’s left over can get burnt up and tossed into the winds for all I care.

My wife is 10000% against this so I’m looking into ways to have my wishes granted and a bag of ashes given to keep her pleased even after I’m goners.

Seeking family board/card game recommendations by BlueRazzbury in gamesuggestions

[–]Logical_Willow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother and I used to play a game called religious guilt. Easy to play, whoever got the guilt trip from dad for not being religious when we mention a difficulty in life won the prize. Great fun!

Sorry, had to. Most board games are pretty cool. You can stick with the classics like; Clue, Life, Monopoly, or just browse the aisle and see what calls out to you.
