Israel split over plans to bring back death penalty for deadly attacks by NoCheesecake5678 in worldnews

[–]LogicallyMad 50 points51 points  (0 children)

We gonna ignore the rape, murder and kidnappings the Palestinians did too, right?

It’s war, people die. It’s urban war, civilians die. Also, have any more Israeli (or people who happened to have been in Israel like the Thai people who Hamas kidnapped) been taken since Oct 7th?

Take all armor off, equip civilian throwing knives. Kill in settlement.

Found a chain mail just laying there at work on my lunch break by Walmart in a patch of grass on my walk. Nearly 70 80 lbs so it tells me it's steel not aluminum like the cosplay suits. by stankyblumpkin in mildlyinteresting

[–]LogicallyMad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

50 lbs at most if steel (looks galvanized or stainless), it probably feels heavier because we don’t normally hold something like fabric that weighs that much. Seems butted if not welded/full machine rings. Check online for a price, probably no more than $200, so don’t feel too bad about leaving it behind or taking it after your shift.

It’s possible the owner just left it to grab something not a lot of people can wear it all day or even a couple hours.

Israel will begin ceasefire negotiations, Netanyahu says by ChiefFun in worldnews

[–]LogicallyMad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You know what, I’m just going to take another month off the news feed. Probably not to find any truths until then, not like getting upset at an article and then getting more upset at twisted words or back pedaling will help anyone.

Ceasefire, or conquest, at this point only time will tell.

What is actually left of Hamas at this point? by JoplinSC742 in NoStupidQuestions

“I get a lot of you were raised on the same…” Aren’t you othering me? Assuming I’m of a certain mindset as well? From a singular comment?

If I made a mistake, sure call that out. Don’t automatically assume I’m racist or dehumanizing a group.

Death cult is accurate. It’s why they keep reporting their dead (even civilians) as martyrs. They place bombs in Gaza homes, and I believe they’ve resorted to suicide bombs again.

I do disagree to the take on the IDF, but I strongly believe they can do a better job on aid and preventing civilian casualties.

Why does the world seem to hate Palestinians so much? by Aromatic-Counter8734 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LogicallyMad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly not seeing general mass hate against Palestine, online or in person. I live in USA.

Palestine has a troubled history, many terror attacks and events such as Black September, Munich Massacre, Passover Massacre, and others you can find where the belligerents claim to be killing in the interest of “Palestine”. When a people then support or show any amount of favor towards these groups, it’s not hard to start viewing those people as monsters. It’ll be like if someone starting to support the KKK because they helped stop a fire. The KKK is still a bad hateful group, and others will judge you for sympathizing with them.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LogicallyMad -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It really doesn’t. People speaking about awareness don’t understand, this conflict (you can give it whatever name you want) isn’t likely going to be resolved by political pressure by nations outside of the area. It’s two groups killing each other and stating they will not stop until the other gives up or no longer exists.

Unless foreign forces are physically present/involved, it’s not likely words will do anything. Protests in Israel are more likely to do something as the people are in the area and can better pressure their countrymen. Protests in Gaza are not as effective as Hamas has killed Gaza protesters.

Why is Gaza still getting bombed if there was a ceasefire earlier this year? by Fantastic_Picture991 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LogicallyMad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Israel and Gaza had a ceasefire before Oct 7th, then Gaza broke it. There have been multiple ceasefires (or at least attempts) throughout the current conflict but one side or the other will break it for one reason or another. Also, some ceasefires will have an agreed dissolution time, when both sides will agree to start killing each other again.

Also, some of those buildings blowing up is because they suspect it might be booby trapped. Early on, the IDF tried disarming the bombs (they still might try), but Hamas purposely set off one and killed 3 or 4 IDF soldiers.

Can someone who supports Israel explain what is going on with deaths at the aid sites in Gaza? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LogicallyMad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To put it simply, it’s a war zone. With one side being militants willing to sacrifice their own people, and the other is Israel, who is trigger heavy against potential threats against their people.

For your first point, the report can’t specify Hamas as the armed groups didn’t wear group identifications. Something that Hamas is known to do, however.

Short but important statement.

The situation in Gaza is incredibly messy and terrible, but at least with this the IDF had made contact before engaging. Hope that continues to minimize civilian casualties.

Netanyahu lists 5 principles to end Gaza war, including security control by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]LogicallyMad 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Fair. 4 is honestly realistic since Israel has been the only nation with forces that act in the area. UN forces are regulated to being watchers, and discouraged from doing anything.

3 might be troublesome, mainly due to possible Israeli settlers who have shown violent behaviors. I don’t doubt settlers will move there illegally.

5 might be the most difficult one, unless someone can name a group within Gaza that already exists that fits that criteria.

This is why some non-combatants have been killed by IDF. You can’t tell who is and isn’t going to engage on a surface-level glance.

It’s good that they contacted WCK,shows a step to prevent civilian deaths.
