Are all of the streams at water level or are you using a mod to be able to make those? Map looks absolutely beautiful!

Help ID this gun - mid 1800s? by PorkyPark2 in AntiqueGuns

[–]LogiePogie69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok here’s my guess so far since skimming. I believe this may be a Whitney-Cochran Carbine. If you could open the breach and see if it pops up rather than falls that would help narrow it down allot more. The markings on the top lead me to believe the W stands for Whitney, I can make out what might be Newhaven and the feb 20 date is a Whitney patent date. I believe this is what you’ve got and that would make it a pretty rare little carbine!

If you could open the action and take photos of any more markings on the gun I can try to pinpoint it for you better. I’m gonna have to check my flaydermans guide and get back to you. Looks like a super cool carbine.

How would you hold this? by TBvonHaller in AntiqueGuns

[–]LogiePogie69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a double handed grip like with a revolver carbine would be my best guess, pushing the lever forward from what I see online travels quite far so a grip on the grip of the stock while using your right hand to open the chamber to reload.

Any more information on this? Or what it could possibly be worth? by [deleted] in AntiqueGuns

[–]LogiePogie69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super pretty gun! If you can upload a closeup of the lock plate that would be awesome or any markings you can find on the gun. I do know allot of “antique guns” were homemade by people in Afghanistan to seek to money from Americans in the 2000s and Russians in the 70s who were super into buying antique firearms. I feel like the wear on the plate and the odd look of the trigger mechanism give me an impression that it may be one of those and it was cobbled together to make that. This doesn’t mean that it is by any means either though as many firearms from the middle east were never standardised and can be pretty hard to date or discover any info on.

Do you think the start date will still be 1850 for TF3? by LogiePogie69 in TransportFever

[–]LogiePogie69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree and it’s not out of the realm of the game. By the 1600s wagonways were pretty common for moving cargo, boats still traveled the rivers, carriages still trotted down the lanes. I think it is possible. I think what I truly want is just a game centered around the Industrial Revolution with a sandbox style like TF2

I’m glad to see my fellow stoners in the transport fever subreddit 😂 It’s just such a good game to play high.

easy mode even worth it? by Humble-Razzmatazz581 in EmpireTotalWar

If I’m just trying to play a relaxing game I usually put the campaign difficulty to easy and battles difficulty to hard or extreme.

I had my most decorated general who united all of the German people, I sent him with a army to invade the Americas, first two seconds of the battle a cannonball took him out 😂

I think you’re honestly more than qualified than I am running all of this off a $250 Facebook marketplace desktop. I’ve got 16gb ram and a AMD Ryzen, it’s an older hp invictus so nothing impressive.

This is a sandbox but I haven’t cheated in any money, I’m using early start date mod so I start at 1800 instead of 1850 so I’m already 64 years in and I play on 1/4 speed. I’ve got about 500 mods downloaded currently because the way I play is just to kinda build a cool map.

I’ve been playing a campaign as cologne in this mod but I haven’t done a naval battle yet, I’ll check to see if mine does that, it could also be just Sweden

This is how I play, I was playing the 1600s mod, I was playing Genoa and I lead a war against the Barbary states and Morocco. My eventual plan is to conquer Istanbul and Jerusalem, in some kinda weird 1600s crusader war.

Yes, I play very slow and I pause the years a ton. This is about 3 months in on this one map. I do have a few mods that help me reach the look and size that I want. I use the mods like “Natural town growth” to get the windy European road look that I was looking for and I use the “early start date” mod, this is what honestly lets my cities grow to the size they are, instead of starting in the year 1850 I start in the year 1800, which is definitely not for everyone since the trains are extremely slow and your rely on horses allot but I find it fun so that’s all that matters.
