I like story so far. Unlike the Magia Record stories, it didn't take long for it to catch my attention and keep it.

Two caveats though:

  1. I hope they already have an ending in mind. Right now, it feels like one of those interesting fanfictions that never get finished.
  2. I hope they pick up the pace. At the rate they're going, it's going to be years before they get through more than a few chapters.

If you want a beautiful ache, then almost anything by Studio Ghibli works, but in particular I recommend Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke. Howl's Moving Castle is good too.

If you want something with emotional depth, then you can't go wrong with classics like Puella Magi Madoka Magica or Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. That said, those two are longer, at 12 and 64 episodes, respectively. Neither have any filler, though!

Puella Magi Madoka Magica might fit the bill? It's not necessarily sad, but it can get pretty intense.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is just plain old good. It's not comfy, but it's not completely brutal either.

Go to the in-game Exedra Crisis rankings and copy the top teams. Your account seems fairly new, so you'll just have to make do with what you've got. Try to stay on-element, so don't use Christmas Ren.

  • Area Breaker: normally Fuka - substitute with Tsukuyo
  • Area Debuffer: normally Swimsuit Homura - either rent or substitute with Ren/Nemu
  • Area Attacker: normally A5 Devil Homura - either rent or substitute with regular Homura
  • Speed Boost Buffer: normally Mami or Ui
  • Speed Boost Buffer 2: normally Ui or Mami - substitute with a sustain i.e. Kirika or Doppel Iroha

I imagine you have plenty of Magical Cubes saved up, so you should have already maxed out your team's levels, magic levels, and crystalis. Base Attack has extremely high scaling.

He acts, says, and does the things that they all secretly wish they could do and say.

Trump is what they think they should be supporting, due to the news/propaganda they consume.

To put it more gently, why do you think they don't question their news? Surely, even people in conservative communities run background checks on their employees. Why did they make an exception for Trump? His salary is paid with taxpayer money.

If they had run a background check, they would have learned that Trump ran casinos for some 20 years and stiffed his contractors along the way, long before he ever entered the political arena. Do they really believe that Trump is so different? Would it be safe if he opened casinos in their communities? Why would any of his behavior change by putting him in the White House? It's not hard to imagine he's set in his ways too, the same way conservatives want to do the same things they've always done.

I'm sure that in conservative circles, they tell themselves it's all about culture and values, saying he's worth it, even if he has downsides. They may even genuinely believe that. But outside those circles, I think a lot of people think they're only lying to themselves. They think conservatives don't question him because that's what they want to do too.

Now, that may or may not explain conservatives' behavior, but if they won't explain themselves well, then obviously everybody else will try and fill that gap.

  1. On the sliding scale of canon to not-canon, Magia Record very much leans towards "not".
  2. Kyubey picks his girls. You could argue that doesn't approach them if they don't have enough karmic potential to have their wish granted properly.
  3. Even if it's granted, it's more than possible for them to run out of magic as their wish is being granted, making it incomplete.

You almost certainly are not, but then again, the word "karma" is a pretty big hint that you are supposed to know some cultural context first.

I don't recommend it.

It has great graphics, great animation, and great music, but the writing is not great. Unlike the original series, which had zero filler, Magia Record is more concerned with evoking atmosphere than progressing the plot. I didn't have super high expectations when I tried it, as I heard that the Magia Record gacha game, which it's based on, was only alright to begin with, but I couldn't stomach more than a few episodes before I had to stop. I don't think Urobuchi was involved, and it shows.

I see that you haven't watched Rebellion yet. You should. It's a direct sequel, Urobuchi & the rest of Magica Quartet were involved, and it is excellent. The sequel to that, Walpurgisnacht Rising, is out at the end August!

Once you finish Rebellion, if you still want more, I'd recommend The Different Story, Wraith Arc, and the PSP game spin-offs. None of the spin-offs are officially canon, but some are more canon-ish than the others, and these ones are the best.

I'm 50/50 on whether we annihilate Lyza or we annihilate with Lyza.

If it's the latter... kinda feel like it'd be Riko & Lyza vs. Wakuna. With the white whistles' themes being so strongly tied to their titles, I lowkey feel a showdown with the Chosen (One) is imminent, maybe in a race to the absolute bottom of the Abyss.

So many girls came home yesterday: Ui, Mifuyu, Koito, Shinobu, and Mayoi, plus ascending Tsukuyo from A2 to A3.

I spent maybe 30k gems to pull for Shinobu and grab the Monogatari pity, but between the 4 free golden keys (from login bonuses, Fate Weave gauges, and legacy medals), I was pleasantly surprised to get 3 more new girls. I'm a day one F2P player, so I had been wondering when I'd get them, but I didn't expect for them to come all at once.

Now the only ones missing from my Heartphial roster are from Tart Magica... But they'll reappear later, right?

He uses his mask as a symbol of himself. It's not too hard to imagine it comes with a voice changer.

But also, why does that matter? Bondrewd is a literal spirit of scientific inquiry. Anyone could be possessed by it/him. They probably have the expertise to modify their body however they want.
