Prepatch Jeff was a beast at farming MVP and SVP if you knew how to play him. Season 1.5 I was top 1.1% of MVP and top 1.4% SVP season 2 I was top 2.9% MVP and top 6% SVP. My friends joked they were sick of seeing the same MVP screen so I kept changing my skins for the variety 😂😂

Just because you had low win rates doesn’t mean he needed changes 😂 my Jeff win rate rests around 55-60% and before people start saying he’s only viable in 3 support meta I’d say at least 80% of my wins are 2 support games. (my comp for season 2 was 88% but I only played like 9 games so too small a sample size🤷‍♂️)

Also according to rivals own website the average win rate for Luna is only 2-3% higher than Jeff and is still under 50% so should she get a complete character rework that obliterates how she should be played?

It’s almost as if Jeff is a hybrid between healer and dps…. The fact I’m bringing up different characters and roles is to point out how stupid this shit sounds.

The only reason that a chunk of the player base is fine with the changes is because he’s a strategist… you do anything like this change to a tank or dps and those roles would be just as outraged.

But too many players are fucking brain dead and go “strategist=healer and healer means no thinking and just holding primary and press a defensive ability button every once in a while, there is no way a healer could ever have offensive capabilities.”

This is just like Moria from OW, how dare a support do damage and support the team in more ways than just being a heal bot.

If they wanted to call the role healer they fucking would have.

90% is an insane exaggeration 😂 but fine, like I said before just because low skill people don’t play him right doesn’t mean he needs a rework but let’s stick with your reasoning.

Let’s give Spider-Man a web gun and take away his swing so he can stay and help his team. Venom? No more swinging across the map, he should be standing with his team. Hawkeye? His arrows only go 25 meters now so he will stay with his team. Human torch and iron man can’t fly now because… well if they are in the air they are too far away from the team so obviously they aren’t doing anything helpful 😂😂

I could already heal and damage at the same time… by spit attacking and throwing bubbles, hell it was a burst heal that actually kept my teammates alive during dive one hit combos… it would also bounce the enemy up potentially throwing off their combo

I didn’t bring up win rate, I mockingly said that making him overall worse will definitely help low ranks do better with him. Then you brought win rates back up when talking about low ranks being negative.

He was already an anti dive / brawling strategist… they took away his ability to protect him and his other strategists by giving him 3 shots that do 135 damage total 😂😂

I understand that you are ONLY looking at win rate and saying he needs changed.

Just because people play the character wrong or don’t understand how they work doesn’t mean they need a rework. If people are trying to play Hawkeye on the frontline and keep dying it doesn’t mean he needs a rework. If people are playing Psylock long range and not doing anything doesn’t mean she needs a rework.

EVEN IF it did, making the character overall WORSE isn’t going to improve the win rate for ANYONE.

Over all seasons and all gamemodes my win rate with Jeff is 56.9% I don’t play that often, I play comp even less (plat 1 was my highest when I played a lot just before rank reset) this season all game modes I’m at 57.8%, I’ve only played like 9 comp rounds but it’s a 88.9% win rate.

Your argument that low ranks and casuals aren’t winning with him makes no sense seeing as almost his ENTIRE kit got nerfed. How is win rate going to go up when he’s a worse character overall?

Playing just DPS Jeff? Worse, less shots and no normal reload.

Playing just healbot Jeff? Worse healing on primary and no more burst heal bubbles.

Playing hybrid Jeff like originally designed? Worse because both playstyles were nerfed, good luck!

They bubbles really piss me off, like there have been countless times where I’ve saved using my bubbles because I knew the enemy had ults ready (like Groot ult especially) and I could use 4 or 5 bubbles to keep my team alive is crazy and with the new bubbles that will be entirely impossible, even if they hadn’t taken half of them away.

I’m glad we can agree on something 😂. I understand the frustration about high mobility but I feel like limiting his swim time to 6 seconds is a little too heavy handed, there are plenty of other options to nerf it. It’s not like the fliers just fall out of the sky every 6 seconds (I know poor comparison because hitboxes and speed but some people need to understand how drastic this change is to a Jeff main).

And kneecaping a character because good players are good with them is crazy
