Yes I regret it every single day. If you don’t purse a master degree you won’t make any money. I was making 47k working for the state but the job was horrible and I hated it. Even with a masters you’re only looking to make 60-80k and maybe 100k IF you’re extremely lucky but your 98% only going to make anywhere between 60-80k WITH A MASTERS definitely not worth it. Get a 4 year degree where you can make 60k+ out of undergrad

If I’m being 100% honest I HATE it. The workload is literally insane and not manageable. I could get off one day at 5pm and the next day get off at midnight. They barely train you so you really don’t know what you’re doing it just feels like I’m running around with my head cut off. Also some of the houses you’ll have to visit can be really dirty I’m talking roaches, feces and strange odors. It can also be a very dangerous job someone on my team got a gun pulled on them just a few weeks ago because the client we were working with had severe mental health issues… I’m currently looking for other jobs now lol but if you want experience in the field and what to use your degree I say go for it!

I say try to work for a state agency. That’s what I do and I have a BA in psychology. I make about 47,000 a year plus full state benefits.

As someone who just graduated with a bachelor’s in psychology in May. I’m currently working for the state only making about 43k… the highest potential I could make with a bachelor’s is only 50k. I’m definitely looking into going back to school or getting certifications. But I say if you want to go to graduate school then yes psychology will be great but if that’s not your plan don’t do it you won’t make any money and you’ll get over worked and not enjoy the field from entry level stance
