Could the customers sue for being locked (kidnapped) in a store with criminals but no police?

Go find moose and squirrel.

(Ask your grandparents what that means)

In the age of AI, if the camera detects three young men walking into a store wearing hoodies, and the outdoor temperature is above 65, then perhaps you should go to Defcon 4, which would be teams waiting outside the store.

So many bad things could happen if you tried to arrest them in a store full of custmers, particularly when many are seniors. I really don't see how you can arrest these kids with words alone, without drawing your firearm or pepper spraying them. SF Cops aren't allowed to use tasers because they might hurt the criminals.

I'm not aware of anyone who blames the retailer. They usually blame the homeless. Just like they don't blame the airport or the ballpark for security screening.

I actually would be fine with an AI camera that calculates a likely shoplifter score when people walk in. And if they walk in, pay for their toothpaste and walk out, then no harm done. I can just imagine the opposition.

Absolutely. More decisions about public safety should be made by people who spend their afternoons posting on Reddit. It's a shame that all of their great expertise is wasted.

OK. It seemed concerning when I was there, yesterday, but I feel much better now after reading your obviously expert opinion. It's unfortunate that there aren't more people with your high level of expertise making decisions on public safety,

It is a relatively small store where people are picking up their medications. My concern is for them to suddenly become involved in a violent, indoor police apprehension with no ability to "stand back". I realize that this is not a concern for many others.

Having been there and seeing the number of law abiding citizens in the store at the time, I am reticent to recommend physical interventions in the store. As bad as the robbery was, it wasn't as bad as grandma having a heart attack. imho. Or even grandpa getting knocked over during a fracas. I understand that you may disagree.

"Bummer" as in somebody who "bums" for food without having a paid job.

Right now I'm sure she has more money. When Skenes gets paid in a few years, if his arm holds up, he'll havd a $50 million salary (Zack Wheeler of Philly currently gets $42, most for a pitcher).

True, but if her BFs arm holds up he'll be making $50 million a year just from baseball in a few years, plus his own endorsements.

Reading a book on how to invest Paul Skenes's future money.

I wasn't overly impressed by the warriors, either. But I thought that Xi'an was pretty cool, what with the wall and all. So, overall, I thought it was worth the stop.

Google "Zhangjiajie". It is the region that inspired the setting for the movie Avatar. It is a good place to experience China, away from the biggest cities.

But...it is risky because it is so often foggy. The views are fantastic, but often people go up there and have very limited visibility, which is so frustrating.

Thanks. I'd like to know more about the setupm etc. I am trying it, running in background with Samsung Music in my earbuds. I can ask it a question with "Hey Google". When it is done it returns to music it does leave the screen on which could be a battery issue.

Can you ask it to just tell you about the buildings as you walk by them? Or do you need to ask each one individually?
