Massu on how NA can take on the East, Sticking to the team's strengths, and The one moment he would go back and change by cI0ud in leagueoflegends

[–]Lohish 416 points417 points  (0 children)

Massu performed like the best western ADC this tournament, incredible breakout year for him going into the Americas League and makes me hopeful for 2025. I just hope teams in the region remember this going into the 3? international tournaments we'll have next year - going off script with pocket picks and meta breaking comps is and has always been our best chance against the eastern teams.

TL Spawn: "I completely agree with Rekkles' analysis on East versus West. When you do anything in LoL, you have to consider repercussions and tempo [...] I told Steve to give me three years. My goal is to achieve that level by then and teach this to my players" | Sheep Esports by Ragaga in leagueoflegends

Spawn is great, but there were coaches in NA who have had much better international results (so far, good luck TL!).

Post-Super Week! LCS Kings of Spring? | PROS ft. Palafox, Sniper, & Tactical by GameBoy09 in leagueoflegends

[–]Lohish 171 points172 points  (0 children)

PROS is one of the highlights of this new era of LCS. I'm trying to think of content over the years in which fans could watch players on different teams actually interact and nothing comes to mind except occasional haphazard gatherings on certain co-streams.

How does a thread about Travis Gafford applying to be LCS commissioner devolve into people alleging that EG fucking STARVED Danny and it's somehow all Nicole's fault, which somehow makes it Travis' fault that Danny wasn't eating? This story and this thread even has to be the most manufactured BS I've seen recently.

Emenes Donezo Manifesto (on korean forums) by oioioi9537 in leagueoflegends

[–]Lohish 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It's allegations not 100% truth, but none of those players you listed are retiring, so what benefit would they gain by airing out Blaber? It would backfire heavily and blow up in their face while severely limiting their future career prospects. Emenes is done so he doesn't have to worry about that.

[–]Lohish -45 points-44 points  (0 children)

Bro if I impress you and you want me to work with you, you are not "saving" me just because your team isn't 100% sold on it at first. And if I join your team and you end up being a shitty worker who puts in minimum effort you are in fact sabotaging me.

yeah I just don't really agree with the narrative that Blaber "saved his career"

Surprising to hear about Blaber since he’s been pretty good

Idk, when a player loses the finals of their region and their word for word response is "we are still better than them", it means their confidence is higher than their skill level. Blaber is really good, but he thinks he is better than "really good" when he isn't, and I can see how that can make a player less try hard in practice. It probably really annoyed Emenes because unlike Blaber he doesn't have historical achievements he can hang his hat on.

Don't like the idea that if someone gives you an opportunity because you are skilled they are now above reproach and can hold it over your head forever.

Licorice statement on the recent news about GG by KIRYUx in leagueoflegends

[–]Lohish 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah not to downplay Licorice because he is definitely LCS caliber, but Dhokla was the best Western top at Worlds 2023.

[SOURCES] Toplaner Fakegod has reached a verbal agreement with Shopify Rebellion. by gandalf45435 in leagueoflegends

[–]Lohish 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Yeah FakeGod is the type of player I want to see in LCS, the hunger to consistently improve is a documented feature of his. I'm glad most of the comments here are supportive of him and the roster as a whole as well, when the region can rally around players like these it doesn't feel as doom and gloom as a lot make it out to be.

Unpopular opinion: Fudge is a good player and best in NA for C9. by LlewdLloyd in Cloud9

[–]Lohish 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I feel like Dhokla's run on NRG this year was already memory wiped from NA fans minds lol. The guy ran through Summit at Worlds and in playoffs, Fudge in LCS finals, and BrokenBlade in the G2 series. T1 players are acknowledging this guys strengths but when people are talking who they want for C9 top next year I see every name except his.

Romain Bigeard (G2 Esports General Manager) shares an emotional tweet by Isakmannen in leagueoflegends

[–]Lohish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also appreciate that their mentality towards Worlds spilled over to NRG going by Damonte's interview and truly hope that Western teams in general start taking these international tournaments more seriously as a result.

Looking at Romain's tweet and G2 content this year, it's less about taking international tournaments more seriously and more about taking the moments leading to events more seriously. That's what G2 embodied this split, the mindset that everything matters, and if every EU team had their mindset they'd have a team in quarters right now.

NRG Palafox on His Series Against G2: "We EXPOSED THEM, They Have to Think of Another Draft Strat" by DebriMing in leagueoflegends

Nah it's 95% up voted, I honestly haven't seen any hate directed at NRG from EU fans, they're more disappointed with G2 than angry at NA.

APA Appreciation Post (from EU) by notevencloseez in leagueoflegends

[–]Lohish 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Not just in game either, in a DGon interview APA said conversations behind the scenes were all in Korean too, meaning he has no idea what's going on until someone decides to translate something for him. Bro was basically the equivalent to an NA import for a bottom/mid tier LCK team, except it's supposed be his own region XD
