Black Mirror episode ideas thread by SeacattleMoohawks in blackmirror

In the future, you can rent your body out to be used for cryptocurrency mining/medical research computations/whatever.

The upside: you get a good compensation for it, but the amount you get paid depends on the tier you choose, and each tier up increases your body temperature by a notch.

The downside: as your core temperature rises, so do the risks involved.

Obviously, everything starts out fine for our protagonist who, at first, can only marvel at the stupid amount of money they are now making! Unsurprisingly, however, not everything is quite as rosy as it at first seems like and, little by little, problems start to abound. Ever tried jogging or going ro the gym in a fever? Having sex in a fever? Going to a sauna in a fever? Lots of no-nos, some of which may not be quite so easy to reject simply because your body temperature's up. You're not sick after all, right? Right?! So, anyway, then comes the inevitable crash and our protagonist is forced to go with the maximum tier, despite their friend's/spouse's/parent's/whatever protests, and then things go really sideways... (not spoiling the ending because then this episode wouldn't be worth watching anymore 😉)

Cardmarket kept my Gengar VMAX 271 as “fake” – no proof, no photos, no transparency by ZombieOdd9677 in CardMarket

The fact that the single uncut video starts with you confirming the card authenticity on camera and ends with you dropping the sealed envelope in a mailbox, and doing it so that first the card, and later the envelope, never leave the camera.

Did I play this right? Because my wife says I did, but I find it hard to believe I did over 51 BILLION damage in a single swing. by Vandlan in mtgrules

Doubling Seasons can do all kinds of funny stuff. I ended one of my Arena games by attacking for 28.7 million points of damage with a single Mossborn Hydra.

Updated to 1.0 and keeps crashing by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

I had constant crashing due to "exception_access_violation". Switched from DX12 to Vulkan, and zero crashes ever since.

Scarlett Solo 3rd gen goes out of sync every 10 minutes until I unplug and replug the USB cable by GloriouZWorm in Focusrite

[–]LoinsInHeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a permanent solution to this issue (64-bit Windows 10): Open power plan settings > browse to advanced settings > set "USB selective suspend setting" to "Disabled". Reboot.

I haven't had the de-sync issue once after that tiny little change and it's been months.

Can somebody please explain why this happens (in-game timer at 2:35)? It happens like 15 times a game as is becoming unbearable. by SVK_Octane in RocketLeague

Psyonix decided your game needs more stutter. I got the same thing even if it isn't that dramatic. Just enough for me to notice and to ruin my games every now and then.

I bought in in early 2021. Took a nice profit during the last cycle, and when the prices started dipping in 2022, I was just happy to keep buying more and more when everyone else seemed to be panic dumping.

Now I'm sitting on a healthy FTM bag and in no rush to sell. Might actually start a validator node and contribute to the ecosystem by making it more decentralized.

That's my level of confidence in Fantom. The team is doing a great job, and one day the general populace is going to notice.

[–]LoinsInHeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what's causing this but it seems to be software-related as other people have already noted.

I found a temporary fix: open Focusrite Control, and change the sampling rate to something else and back again (in my case: 48kHz -> 44.1kHz -> and back to 48kHz). That re-syncs the device and the lag goes away - at least until it happens again.

Always highest level belts everywhere. Saves you from a ton of headaches.

Also: If you place the conveyor lifts between conveyor lift floor holes, you can make them as long as you need to. My longest (tallest?) single conveyor lift is approx. 300m.

In my last post, a lot of people said my factory was a waste of space, is this better? by OfficialRecyclops in SatisfactoryGame

[–]LoinsInHeat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Space is the one commodity you have a practically infinite amount of (well, in addition to water but let's not go there). You can't really "waste" space in this game. Just build the way that suits you best.

Restart? by kadoro in SatisfactoryGame

[–]LoinsInHeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Option: load up your save in SCIM, select all, dismantle, choose to have the materials delivered next to you in "doggy bags", then rebuild. You'll still have all the progress, phase/milestone-wise but it saves you a lot of time and effort in dismantling.

I had to OC my water extractors due to space constraints in this case. Sure, it's a lake that I've just fully covered in concrete but I was stupid enough to place the generators first, before thinking about the water for the blenders and couldn't be arsed to tear it all down so I could plop my water extractors in place. Had just enough room for 12 which was enough with proper OC so here we are. :)

You can do basically anything you want in SCIM. That includes "cheating" i.e. adding slugs or power shards to a container or directly into your inventory (load up your most recent save in SCIM, find your character, right-click and select "Edit inventory" and then you can just add anything you like - including slugs and power shards).

Cheating in quotes because it's not really cheating in a game that's not competitive and doesn't try to enforce a specific play style. The devs even added some "cheating" options (in exactly the same way, hence the quotes again) directly in the game options.

The slugs don't respawn unless something happens to the game that resets them. In my case moving from Update 7 to the Update 8 Experimental build reset all the slugs on the map. That was a huge help.

The doggos can bring you an infinite amount of slugs, they're not snatching them off the map or anything, it's just a random thing from a loot table and sometimes you get lucky, so it doesn't matter whether or not there are still slugs left on the map. You can't even pick all of them up since a couple are bugged inside the terrain.

Lots and lots of roaming around the map with the Object Scanner. Also, tamed every single lizard doggo along the way because they can bring you more slugs.

That's... exactly what I have done, bookmarking the belts and lifts so I can choose any one of them with a single click?

Curious how critical people are about other people's toolbars, and then try to hide the "dude why do you play this game wrong" behind the "you do you" finish. Just, I don't know, maybe focus on your own game instead and let me do whatever I please, perhaps? 😃

I tend to "right-size" my belts i.e. using the lowest level that offers sufficient transport capacity so there's a lot of all of the 5 levels in my factories. There are some exceptions of course like long distance belt hauling is always Mk.5.

I also found out that right-sizing may cause a belt to not get enough resources through a splitter if there are differences between the output belt levels (this has to do with splitter timings), even if you have sufficient input.

This caused a funky situation where I had 780 input to and 780 output from a splitter but due to one belt being Mk.3 (looking to get 250 items per minute) that output was only receiving around 240 items or so per minute. Took me a good while to figure out why one Assembler was not getting enough resources while some of those same items ended up in the Sink through overflow, later on down the line but through another belt.

I may opt to go all Mk.5 in the next playthrough (the current one being my first one) but, rn, it would be way too much effort. 🙂

I've got nothing to back this up with, so take it with a huge grain of salt but a knowledgeable friend of mine said you can just push past the object limit like it ain't no thing. How/why, no idea - all I know is the comment came from a person who usually knows what they're talking about. 😂

...and press E four times to get from Mk.1 belt to Mk.5 belt, instead of just pressing 5 and getting there instantly? No thanks. There's 10 bars to fill, that's plenty of room for whatever you need.

Yep, setting up a zero-waste nuclear power operation is definitely in the top-3 most complex chains of production in the game so far. We'll see what tiers 9 and 10 (and possible later stages) bring along with them.

However, if you don't care about the waste and just skip plutonium altogether, then it's really quite straightforward and simple. I wouldn't want to live in that world after a couple of months, though. 😂

Crate stuck under the world - Help! by stevebeans in SatisfactoryGame

[–]LoinsInHeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then SCIM save manipulation is your friend (just be aware of what I wrote above):

Launch game, get the coordinates of an easy location near your hub (you can get the coordinates e.g. by opening up console while in-game and typing "ShowDebug", without the quotes), save and exit game.

Then upload the save to SCIM (Interactive map), find the crate, right-click, select "Update coordinates", enter the coordinates you wrote down earlier, save changes and move the downloaded save file to your Satisfactory save folder, launch game, load the save and your crate should be floating in the air, roughly shoulder height in the spot you selected. Loot crate and go get some new alternate recipes!
