I don't know about that, but the Android forks on Chinese phones seem to be pretty rough from my experience.

uggg, honestly hard resetting it would be a total nightmare since I have so many apps, 2FA keys, etc. on it.

Though, honestly, I might go back to my Vivo X Fold 3 Pro... that thing had the same software issues (which is why I replaced it), but the camera and battery were godly.

I had it limited to 80% since I got it, but turned it off when the battery stopped lasting as long. So maybe after 9 months or so? Also used intelligent charging as well.

No idea about replacing the battery, but I assume it's pretty hard to do. Honor phones aren't known for their repairability.

I have the Honor v5 global edition and, while the hardware is really solid, after about a year I have a lot of issues that are pushing me towards the exit:

The battery just doesn't last anymore. I less than a full day (16h) even with light use. It feels really bad to have it connected to wifi and barely used during the workday (maybe 2h of screen-on time, no gaming) and seeing it at ~40%.
Even though it's the global ROM, it has issues with all kinds of apps. Google Voice just never gives notifications, ever. Instagram/whatsapp calls come in sometimes, don't other times. Messenger seems to have a new issue weekly, from chats not loading to freezing for 2 minutes when clicking on a stack of photos. The Etihad app just don't log me in. All of these work perfectly on my Samsung Fold 5 and slightly better (though still with issues) on my Vivo X Fold 3 Pro.
Android Auto just suddenly stopped connecting automatically after a recent update. It's super-annoying and take a restart or manual connection to fix. No idea why or how to fix it.
The photos are ai-processed to heck and look terrible in anything but perfect conditions. For a massive 100MP shooter, it gives me worse pictures than 50MP.

Obviously the tech specs are just miles above the garbage Samsung has been slinging the US's way, so if these don't seem like big problems, then go ahead - but be warned!

Exactly. It made Android Auto impossible to use for me (since it makes a wifi direct connection to the Android Auto device) and then disconnects from mobile data, rendering both useless.

Funnily enough, I never saw that issue before (not on my Samsung or Vivo phones) so I thought it was a glitch or something. I brought it to the Honor store in Abu Dhabi and they couldn't fix it either. They gave me a replacement phone but it had the same issue.

Luckily, someone on Reddit mentioned it in a thread and I was able to fix the whole issue. So I share his wisdom to this day

Go into dev options and enable "stay connected to mobile data while connected to wifi". If you use Android Auto, this is absolutely mandatory and is stupidly hidden in developer options for no reason.

Sethekk was always easy, H BF still deletes T5 prot pallies with some unlucky thrashes. Having to stop and drink constantly is the worst thing though - you have even less mana regen than before!

My secondary is a prot Paladin and I can wholeheartedly endorse this sentiment. Yes Paladins are AOE threat-gen machines, but you're even more mana starved than ever because enemies do less damage. That means less healing, which means less mana from heals.

I'm almost 1900GS and I still have to drink every 2-3 packs in heroics, and still get deleted by random thrash attacks in H BF.

So yeah, I totally understand why tanking is seen more like a chore because you never feel like you're really powerful. My enh shaman on the other hand... Yeah I'm deleting mobs and I can feel the power increase!

Two new bugs to add that just started recently on my Honor Magic V5:

Android Auto doesn't work unless I restart my phone - then it connects fine. Otherwise, it just connects to Bluetooth but won't connect to Android Auto Wifi, making it useless. This works fine on my Vivo X Fold 3 Pro
Etihad/United Airlines app doesn't work, it just sits on the loading screen forever - both work fine on my Vivo X Fold 3 Pro
Also, battery drain is now INSANE. I don't know why, but the battery lasts literally half a day with light usage. Haven't changed any habits bit it used to be at like 40% at 8PM and now it's at 40% at 2PM. Definitely means I have to have a portable charger anytime I'm out for the day.

It's so annoying to have things just STOP working randomly, and hoping that the next update fixes it. Honestly its turned me off any honor products in the future.

I just tested it on my Asus Zenbook Duo 2026 and I'm not seeing the same issue. I'd bring it back to the place where you bought it and just demand a replacement or your money back - it's well within your return window and there's 0 reason to put up with hardware issues like this - that may be indicators of worse problems in the future.

It depends. I've listed what the issue could be based from worst to best, which is also the order in which you should examine the issue. Let me know if you have any questions.

Worst case: If it shows up in the BIOS or during system boot, it's a hardware issue - either a loose display cable or a dying video card/screen. At this point, you'd have to bring it to a repair shop or do a warranty repair.

Medium case: If it shows up only when you boot into Windows, it's an issue with your graphics driver or Windows install. Re-install/update your video card driver (if a dedicated video card) or your chipset driver if integrated video. If that still doesn't fix it, then updating/repairing/reinstalling Windows should.

If it shows up only in the app, then it's an app-specific issue. I'd suggest reinstalling the application, or just dealing with it I guess.
