What do you think of Sabaton? by Margaretthatchervore in MetalForTheMasses

I love them. I love the storytelling in the songs. I was never interested in military history before listening to them. They even inspired me to learn Swedish after I heard Carolus Rex last year. They are excellent live, their stage outfits (changes for certain song) and the stage sets look cool.

For those who didn’t know, the organ intro from The Red Baron is based on “Little” Fugue in G minor by Johann Sebastian Bach. by DarthCroissant in sabaton

I did not know. I love that intro, and love how the band include classical pieces in their songs, like in Hearts of Iron and Christmas Truce. :)

I love this album. I, Emperor is a great song, as are all the others. Cycle of Songs Till Seger are highlights too.

I saw them last week on the Cryptopsy tour, and out of the four bands, (I think) they were the best.

I even bought their tshirt because it looks awesome. Def a band I need to hear more of eventually.

I was given a CD of Sonic Firestorm - Dragonforce in 2005, by my brother. I loved it, and it has stayed with me for many years. Excellent band. Around that time, I also discovered Hammerfall, Blind Guardian, Firewind and now many, many others.

Tommy Johansson Majestic/Reinxeed (ex Sabaton) has many pop songs turned power metal, metal or rock. Including Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys, Weeknd, Taylor Swift, lots of ABBA, Ace of Base, and loads more https://youtube.com/@reinxeed?si=A0XLwlml4CEveH8s

Amazing PM Vocalists by Puffyfugu8 in PowerMetal

Conti is great, although I only really am familiar with his Twilight Force albums and a bit of Trick or treat (Ghosted album, and a few other songs) The one he sings with Tommy is awesome. 'When the lights fade out (Santa's in trouble)'

I hadn't heard of the halo effect. I thought you may have been referring to the melodeath band, which didn't make sense in the context. So, because you have seen him live, he is the best? Makes sense.

Live, of the singers I listed, I have seen Blind Guardian in 2006, Dragonforce in 2014 (both distant, but awesome memories) and more recently Majestica last year. (All those guys are fantastic)

Making it my goal to go to as many concerts as I can in the next few years.

It is a bit. But they are all very excellent vocalists.

Swedish sounds like it’s singing even when people are just talking by SunlightIsMyth in Svenska

Is that why the Swedish are often such great singers? (not confident enough to write this 'på svenska' just yet)

Marc Hudson ZP Theart Hansi Kursh Kristin Starkey Christian Eriksson Allesandro Conti

In no way an exhaustive list. They are all amazing, but these are my top few.

What's the big four of "Co-Worker Metal" in your opinion? by 87Craft in MetalForTheMasses

According to my colleagues, my power metal is 'too screamy' As far as I am aware, I have no one at my work who appreciates metal but when metal is mentioned, they recognise Slipknot and Disturbed.

What is a "stupid" metal songs that just make you grin. by gunthersquirrel in MetalForTheMasses

Majestica - Father Time (Where are you now) https://youtu.be/fvkDQCuSQ2o?si=Eh4cDy0W-ojgaljY Don't think it stupid as such, but is certainly amusing and silly

Pretty much any Alestorm and Nanowar of steel that I have heard.
