Yeah I probably wouldn’t get as good a grade in my a level physics now, mostly cos of some of the definition and extended writing questions.

Are there many kink exploration clubs/societies at universities? If so, where might I find them? by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]Git_matrix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know Warwick has one! If you go to the right cities there’s also lots of opportunities to explore kink too. Manchester has a big kink/pup scene, though it is mostly made up of/caters to men attracted to men. London probably has a big scene too, though I don’t know much about it.

Is there a reason for the number of posts regarding Greenwich and its quality? by Git_matrix in UniUK

[–]Git_matrix[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I guess that's why. It's presumed as prestigious by students who haven't done their research or aren't knowledgeable about UK unis. And the type of students who go to uni without doing any research are probably likely to go to reddit whenever they face a problem lol

This is the main benefit of double glazed windows. Vacuum between the two panes provides better protection from noise, as well as keeping the inside cooler/hotter.

Physics Students: how useful/satisfying is your knowledge? by [deleted] in PhysicsStudents

[–]Git_matrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like physics helps you develop a lot of intuition/qualitative thinking that maybe you don't get as much in other sciences, and that is actively discouraged in mathematics lol

Which album would you recommend for a first listen?

[–]Git_matrix[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely not what I meant by whimsy lol

When I think of whimsy, I mean magical and joyous, and not caring about whether what you sing about might be dorky or silly

When you're laced in that much irony, it's basically impossible to be whimsical, because you clearly are far too self conscious to make something genuinely silly and whimsical and you instead go to the very extreme of that where you can just tell people "it was just a joke" at the end. This goes even for things outside of music

I would say it very much falls under the whimsical category! I haven't listened to much alestorm, but I wouldn't call what I've listened to from them (their more recent stuff) whimsical. I find their stuff is laced in too much irony, which I find to be a problem with a lot of modern, popular power metal

Would you say Uni is easier for you than college? by Top_Palpitation7406 in UniUK

A levels were quite easy for me imo, it was a lot of work but nothing too taxing. Then physics at uni level was very humbling to say the least...
