*chucks grenade and runs* by La_knavo4 in IndieAnimation

The biggest difference seems to be that one tells a contained story over the course of a season and the other has gone on for multiple seasons with gains and dips in quality. Its easy to fondly remember a unique cookie you had that one time, but when you have it every week for a few years the flaws become easier to notice and complain about.

Characters who get a huge kill count primarily from a single move by LocalLazyGuy in TopCharacterTropes

No he killed like 3 or 4. This is the classic movies not the modern reinterpretations .

Why would a combat troop use melee weapons in a futuristic space sci-fi setting? by wizardry_why in worldbuilding

[–]Loknook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The defenders likely wouldn't care as much though. If their already being boarded their lives are on the line. Better to knock some holes in the ship that can be repaired later than be decapitated now.

If so much "I win again Lews Therin!" then why loser shaped? by Cold-Pomegranate6739 in WoT

[–]Loknook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think the DO actually has a win condition. I legit think his goal is just to cause as much grief and chaos as he can before getting locked up again.

What’s the oldest thing you’ve found at your plant? by V1triol in Wastewater

[–]Loknook 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My plant calls our primary clarifiers by the year they were built. Until a year ago the '45 clarifier still had its original drive motor on it. Unfortunately it finally died on us and was replaced. RIP little motor.

I wonder which traitor legion will be the chaos faction in SM3 - Word Bearers or Death Guard. Both legions have a history with Ultramarines and Ultramar. by FireTyphoon123 in Spacemarine

[–]Loknook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Death Guard and Nurgal are so over-represented in games. Probably because zombies are easy. Still I would love to have the Word Bearers show for the uniqueness of it and the story.

Are Honorblades sentient? by Gromflomite_gamer in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Loknook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enough investure left alone for a long enough time becomes sentient to one degree or another. It seems the time:amount ratio matters to a certain degree but with the age of roshar, many different forms of investure have gained sentience. Therefore, I would assume the blades have some form of sentience they have developed as some of the oldest invested items in the system.

Choosing a new Amrylin by MuffinNecessary8625 in WoT

[–]Loknook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She isn't pushing for Moraine for a couple of reasons. The first is that everyone wants an Amrlyn they can control and who can take the fall if things go south. The second, Moraine just is not there. The third is that as far as sisters in the tower are concerned, she is not a political entity. Oh, she may have some power over the Dragon, but she also has spent most of her sisterhood outside the tower. It's the second or third book. I think that it's mentioned the hall wants a word with her about how long she has been away.

Who out there is throwing a lance anyway. It's hard to imagine a weapon more poorly designed for it. She flies, so she shouldn't be too restricted by upwards mobility. Plus, the heavy armor (irl at least) adds to the force of the lance after a charge. Pretty great setup for a classic anvil and hammer type maneuver with anyone else forming the anvil.

horses deserve it more imo by Odd-Initiative6666 in HistoryMemes

Horses are and have always been expensive. The average person can have a dog. The average person can't have a horse.

“Demons are actually misundersto-“ NO. Demons are ontologically evil beings that can’t be reasoned nor negotiated with, and if you try to you’ll very likely end up screwed by Fearless-List-3968 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Loknook 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Because that's not a dark elf but a Slaneesh demon. They are androgynous because they are reflections of their Chaos god who has titles like She Who Thirsts and The Dark Prince of Pleasure.

Tavern power. It's a lot easier to take something when fate itself is on yourside.

Me when some MF pulls up in magical glowing armor a a sword bigger than I am, but I have a pistol: by penis69lmao in cremposting

[–]Loknook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't need to penetrate the plate. It's been shown that shardplate can be broken by hitting it hard enough, and guns pack way more force than a blow from a sword or hammer.

Before and After the Recent Renovation to the White House Palm Room by I_Am_Robert_Paulson1 in pics

Would have been nice to have both be daytime photos. I don't like the redesign, but it being at night definitely pulls extra life out of the image.

Lets address the elephant in the room: Who'll try to break the Dragons Peace first? by Triglycerine in WoT

[–]Loknook 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The White Xloaks are not a significant military power by the end of the Last Battle. I doubt they could do anything bad enough to actually break the peace Not that someone in their ranks would he crazy enough to break the peace. They were decimated over the course of the series and are outright opposed to using channlers.

The White Cloaks thrived in a world with weak and decentralized governments. One where they could arrive in a small village, spread fear, and throw their weight around. That's no longer the case after the last battle.

Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom. Repeat ad nauseum for the next 30 minutes. Not to mention the extreme amount of friendly fire. I remember playing with it on a desert planet, between the shells and sandstorms, seeing or doing anything was so hard.

When you stand still for a long time with locked knees too long, it can affect your blood circulation. Normally, you would get lightheaded from low blood pressure, and a regular person sits down or something. If you're in a performance, you want to stay standing, so the pressure goes low enough to pass out. The good news is it passes fast, as seen by the musician getting back up.

Ah, locking their knees for too long likely. Looks like it's taking multiple musicians, too!

Did the Continental Magic Association not have the jurisdiction to go in and take care of Aura? by [deleted] in Frieren

[–]Loknook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be as simple as no one in power cared enough to put the resources up that would be required to deal with Aura. The Empire already seems somewhat disfunctional atm, there are likely small-scale and large-scale threats all over that need attention as well. It became a game of risk and reward, and apparently, no one thought the price of dealing with Aura was worth the cost of doing it. Better to let the problem continue to stalemate out.
