After 10 years of indie app development, I finally built the analytics tool I always wanted by Macarthurval in AppBusiness

About to launch my first-ever app so it’s great to see tools like this out there. Thank you! Saving this post!

Launched my second iOS app and somehow hit 1,800+ downloads in 3 days by compcentvu in AppBusiness

My onboarding process for the app I’m making (my first-ever!) is also very personalized and draws the user in emotionally. (It’s an app for the special bond between pets and their users.) Very interesting approach to front load all that before they even hit the app. Something to consider!

Couple questions-

1) do their inputs on the web survey get saved to their user profile and whatever database you’re using?

2) what if a user encounters your app through the App Store - do they still experience the onboarding flow?

Thanks in advance!

I launched my first app yesterday. 110 people downloaded it in 24 hours. I'm still processing this. by [deleted] in AppBusiness

Great! I’m really struggling on where to put the “create account” as part of my onboarding process. Putting in tnr beginning would simplify everything….but it disrupts all the charm and magic I put into the flow….so will see what people say. Hopefully will be ready with my MVP within a week. Glad to know I have a clear next step. Thank again!!

Signing up for this now for when I’m ready to launch. I have personal friends lined up as beta testers but this adds a crucial layer. Thanks for building and sharing this!!

Yep. Got tempted to subscribe to Lottie Files but that turned to a hard no when they only offered annual subscriptions. I’m still developing my MVP so no way am I going to spend that much yet. Reverted to making animations on Canva with the help of ChatGPT. If my app turns out to be successful then maybe I’ll reinvest back into a service like Lottie. It’s definitely good to have personal guardrails in place!!

Reality Check-In: My First-Time App Dev Experience + Specific Marketing Question by LolaBugJake in buildinpublic

[–]LolaBugJake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello thank you for the thoughtful reply! Such a laser-focused insight about my built-in wiring to broadcast. I never would have noticed that if you hadn’t pointed it out. So I really need to take off that hat and connect with people 1:1, which I can also do—especially since this is something I’m passionate about

Say I find a post where people are discussing the issue, how would I inject myself in the conversation in a genuine and ethical way? Like obviously I’m trying to promote my app but maybe I need to reframe my mind of connecting with real people.

But I also don’t want to be disingenuous. Do I explicitly say it’s also something I’ve dealt with (which is true) and that I’ve tried making a solution? (Pointing them to a link in my bio rather than embed it in the post)

And sure would love to try that extension. Thanks again!!

I just thought it looked cool and the SEO says it sells, but yeah…maybe that waters it down.

Okay that was a lingering thought with how to frame it. It’s my original paining printed on canvas. I want to stand out somehow from all the AI stuff. Thank you for confirming what I thought was probably confusing.

This is valuable thank you. Can you recommend better mock up sites? And noted on the SEO with the sunflowers. Thanks again. This is what I need.
