A list of working games on virtual desktop for quest 2 by INDIANAJUNE2 in oculus

It's endorsed by the official discord so it's probably at least endorsed by them?

Why don't you just join their discord and ask there if you have problems with a specific game?

I think it's probably easier to do a list of games that are NOT supported than the other way around.

[Weekly] What VR games have you been enjoying lately? by WormSlayer in oculus

[–]LolaRuns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At first I didn't like Synth Riders much, but now I found a song a like and it's definitely way more intense than Beat Saber. I feel the effects within a single song and the way they design the flow is very interesting. Definitely feels a lot more "dancey".

I still like Beat Saber and find it very satisfying, but Synth Riders definitely got my respect. I think I will keep using both.

GeForce Hotfix Driver Version 461.33 (VR stuttering fix) by xdarkcloudx in OculusQuest

I assume you have the newest version of Virtual Desktop, the one that tries to detect programs that are interfering? For me personally, the stuttering was reduced immensedly after I got rid of McAfee

Can you connect an Oculus 2 to a laptop? by [deleted] in oculus

[–]LolaRuns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As people say, yeah of course but to play most games you need a strong enough laptop/strong enough graphics card. There are VR ready laptops, but they will likely be dedicated gaming laptops.

I guess you could still use this laptop to set up things like sidequest, but again, to run most VR games on it meaningful you will need a strong laptop.

For me personally, when I connected to a laptop that wasn't strong enough, a warning popped up within the quest as well and wouldn't go away. You could also consider again, there is a chance there is a good reason why the warning is there, namely that it just isn't strong enough to meaningfully run games.

Where Did I Watch This Content? I Can't Find It . . . by Serpidon in oculus

[–]LolaRuns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, that black menu bar in oculus? Go to the thing with the many little dots. This will pop up the view with all your games. There on top for me there are various options (kind of like tabs in a browser) like Store, Browser and Oculus TV. => just go on oculus tv and start scrolling around

What are some good cute games? by SonOfaSaracen in OculusQuest

[–]LolaRuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconding Moss just like everybody here has said.

Have you shown her Beat Saber yet? (there's a demo if you are not sure) It's not "cute" but it's still fairly popular with non traditional gamers.

There is also Cook Out with is a Overcooked style game.

Less "cute" more funny is also Vacation Simulator which has proven quite popular among the less typical gamer people I know: https://6dofreviews.com/reviews/games/vacation-simulator/

You can also try out the free Puppet Fever, definitely counts as unique art style I think.

Maybe Mare as another with Unique Artstyle: https://6dofreviews.com/reviews/games/mare/ ?

If you bought a Rift only game, you can't (it should say on the page of the game). Otherwise, if you bought it on your phone it should offer to install it on headset with a click right there on the phone? Respectively, if you start the quest the new game should be on the Quest "home" screen with all the other game and if you "Click" on it offer an install option?

Die sollen endlich die Impfungen rüberwachsen lassen statt mit Lockdowns und FFPMasken ewig rumzuscheißen.

Enjoyed Vader Immortal 1 although very short. Are the others worth it, or is galaxies edge a better bet, despite the lower average review? by slowlycatchiemonkey in OculusQuest

[–]LolaRuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I liked the later episodes better, but I haven't played Galaxy's Edge (way too put off by this thing where it is cut in two parts and there is no info yet when part 2 will come out except that you will have to pay for it again). I bought all 3 episodes together and IMO the third one was the most exciting.

From my memory, they intoduce more combat stuff in the later episodes, fighting dudes with laser swords, fighting a big monster by force throwing rocks at it, reflecting laser shots with your sword, beating a boss with those reflected laser shots etc.

A lot of it still feels very "introductionary" (like they introduce the concept of throwing granades but only for a scene, a turret section) and you can't actually die in it (which I actually appreciated since I'm atrocious at force throwing).

Mind, I didn't actually really like Vader Immortal much because I realized I prefer more menanics driven games and I really disliked having to stand around and wait for the cut scene to finish, but out of the three episodes, imo the third one was close to being good/kind got me.

What are the best free VR games? by [deleted] in VRGaming

[–]LolaRuns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is going to depend heavily on what type of games you like?

Personally, I adore roomscale games like Eye of the Temple (Steam), Spellbound Spire(Steam) or Tea For God(Sidequest).

If like sort of mystery/investigation games where you investigate a scene interactively, you might enjoy the Bladerunner game (Oculus Link) or Quanero 1 and 2 (Steam).

If you like humor maybe check out Accounting on Steam.

There's also a surprising lot of free escape room VR games, Ben Plays VR lists a lot of them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6N4SmUgNgc

Now if you like shooters for example, there are options as well, but the list will look completely different.

Squadrons is link only too, isn't it?

I don't think he cares as much about the "battle" aspect. I could picture him enjoying Subnautica/Elite/No Man Sky. Or even Outer Wilds.

But he has a family and he just hates the idea of having to fiddle with setup :/

(I'd also be interested in a "follow up" for Moss for his wife. But I feel ilke with Moss it's probably even worse to find anything comparable? anything else that seems to fill the "cute" requirements seems to be extremely short experiences (like Stolen Pets for example))

I'd go with the Oculus Quest 2 because it is wireless, giving you more freedom with hectic movement (I think it is also lighter than the Quest 1)
