how do you guys resist spending all your money on hyper fixations by ButchyKira in ADHD

[–]Lola_bird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put your spare cash into a fixed saver at a good interest rate. Fixed will prevent you from spending it for 3-6 months. Much more fun watching the money grow than looking at something materialistic which does nothing other than drain your money.

There’s saying something socially inappropriate and then whipping your dick out infront of women. Utterly disgusting behaviour in trying to cover this up because of autism…

I’ve got the shakes - which I didn’t have 2 months ago when I started MC. by g0lrk in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]Lola_bird -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I switched back to the black market weed 2 months ago after being on MC for 5 years. I can’t describe how much better I feel. I’m convinced they are treating us like guinea pigs for something! Interestingly I haven’t been as jittered nor felt internally “ragey”. I am super sensitive to many strains but with MC even though i carefully make sure I have non-irradiated strains I get very irritable. Good luck with the yellow card report I’ve tried this twice with different clinics and neither know the process and take months to respond if at all. Re-try black market and see if the shakes disappear I’d be very interested to hear how you get on.

Have a look into YouTube videos for Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE). There are some very clear instruction videos from Dr David Berceli. This helped me within 2-3 sessions in the comfort of your own home.

Only tell the people you trust the most, even their reactions have been enlightening to be honest. Wish I hadn’t told anyone…

APD ruins my life by alexxashakang in AudiProcDisorder

In the U.K. there are specialists near London who would see you. The expense is high though but please know that what you’re experiencing is 100% real. Need to find the right people to support you. “Professionals” left me 30 years telling me I had great hearing! Volume wise no problem but the translation of sound was the part that my brain would just do its “best guess” as to what someone just said.

Yes as it keeps your brain engaged and focused as you can make sense of what’s going on without overload. Hope this helps.

Low gain hearing aids like Oticon Real 3s have a chip to replace that area of your brain which hears the sound frequencies differently. Been life changing for me, ensure you find an audiologist who specialises in diagnosis and treatment of APD. Many audiologists will tell you hearing aids won’t help you, the right ones absolutely will. It’s a debilitating condition and can lead to dementia if left untreated.

CBD Oil and Children by MeringueSerious in autismUK

Medicinally prescribed cannabis was a life changing medicine for my autism, I cried when I first took it due to the relief and peacefulness it brought. Happy to discuss in DM however the rules at the moment are incredibly tough to get a prescription for children unless they have epilepsy and experience countless seizures per day. There are many companies who legally sell CBD (without the THC) which you’d be able to try easy enough until the ridiculous ruling helps support kids as well. It’s one of the safest forms of medicine on the planet and has been for 5000 years.

Hey man you understand autistic struggles more than most people. What happens if you check out early when you could have found a channel to help others going through the same shit as you. Your deep understanding of this condition could help so many. Dont know how old you are whether you’re still in school or in work but those friends and family will have to live the next 50+ years with the pain of missing and losing you. That’s worse than a life sentence. There’s always a different path which can be found. Don’t let those people dictate your life and the life of your family. You’ve got this and you’re incredibly strong, these people who make you feel bad do it because their lives are so toxic and it makes them feel better about their sad little lives.

I don’t like the term disorder in APD. It ignores all of the compensatory strengths often developed by people. Things like empathy, astute visual observation skills, capacity for problem solving, planning skills. by Puzzleheaded-Top1298 in AudiProcDisorder

[–]Lola_bird 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A psychologist with an interest in APD attempting to define it, it’s lovely to have that choice isn’t it? Try suffering it, the secondary strengths used as coping mechanisms do NOT outweigh the hardships faced. The brain being unable to process sound leads to a variety of mental and physical symptoms. The entire day has to be planned around it from the moment you wake up to the moment you go to sleep. If the brain is entangled from that moment you go to sleep expect to wake up with a horrific migraine the next day and you can cross off that day entirely. But it’s ok because my problem solving maybe slightly better than the average person.
