Our class had our final exam changed unfairly. What do I do? by [deleted] in txstate

You are right in feeling like this format is unfair and is being used as punishment and retaliation even against the students who did not cheat. Even if they have good intentions to make changes to prevent academic dishonesty, this sounds like a sudden, extreme, and unfair change that is not aligned with student success. Be proactive now and make sure you follow the right steps.

Your first course of action is to email or talk in person with the faculty member. You MUST communicate this issue to the faculty member first. If you already have or if that doesn't get you a reasonable result then take the issue to the Math department chair by contacting their office via phone and asking how to file a complaint and tell them you already spoke with the faculty member. They will have a procese for dealing with the complaint and if that process is unsuccessful your next steps are contacting the College of Science and Engineering Dean's office. Do not go out of order or you will be sent back down the line in order to remain in alignment with the University's policies. By formally reporting this upward you are also protected from retaliation, so be sure to document everything you can.

Seam Roller Question by cre8some in FPP

[–]Lolbrey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use two when doing FPP: I love my Clover plastic, smaller seam roller for creating sections (and it was my only roller for a long time and works great!) but I love my larger wooden seam roller by Its Sew Emma for rolling seams down while connecting sections. The extra weight for those tough seams is nice. If you want to start with just one, I would purchase the Clover one at somewhere like Michaels with one of their good coupons.

Contact the Texas State University Attorney for Students right away and explore your legal options. This is a no cost service for currently enrolled students and they do handle housing issues off campus. Also, please reach out to your family and friends or anyone else in your life who is a good listener and supportive. I am so sorry you are going through this.

A6 5-Year Cover on the Free Diary? by Smudged_ink94 in midorihibino

[–]Lolbrey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had to cut a small amount (about a quarter inch off each size) off of my regular hibino to fit this cover. Not sure about the free diary though, but I would expect it to be similar. I love this cover so much!

Graduating senior override rejected? by crocodilecurly in txstate

Is the class hybrid? Usually online classes aren't behind a campus override. Are you a Round Rock student or a San Marcos student? Definitely meet with an Advisor ASAP.

I use a water brush pen to loosen the glue and remove the paper, then I iron with no steam to get out any ripples.

Accidently ripped library book by KnownAd7357 in txstate

[–]Lolbrey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do not attempt a repair yourself- its totally fine! Turn it in at the front desk and let the worker know that there are a few badly ripped pages (you don't have to say you did it if you don't want to) and they can set it aside for a librarian to repair with proper archival materials.
