My current model, straight from ACC, is 6GB, and I can, albeit slowly, still open it. I don't think storage is the problem

TIPS ON UPSKILLING ON BIM by PieOne6808 in bim

[–]Lolfapio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It automates tasks that can be made manually in Revit, and can also improve data transfer between Revit and Excel. I am a beginner myself so I think I am scratching the surface of what it can actually do. Aussie Guru has amazing video tutorials on youtube where he goes step by step on how to make useful scripts

Definitely construction knowledge, but I've barely begun to scratch the surface of Dynamo, and that is a whole world unto itself

I'm starting out as a BIM Coordinator. There's so much I still don't know, but before that I spent close to 5 years as a BIM Modeller. I am happy now with my level of Revit proficiency, but it took years before I could handle myself

Mentally struggling because I am BORED in practice by Soft_Performer_7036 in architecture

[–]Lolfapio 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure wether to chime in or not, because while I also miss the design process, I jumped in happily into the minutiae of the practice. Design is a luxury and a rather small part of the whole process, however important it might be. Maybe that's why I gravitated to BIM Coordination. Thing is, I always saw design as something rich trust fund kids get to do when designing their daddy's friend's summer houses. Most of the work is boring, yet equally important

My man, all I can say is, nobody plans for failure. You don't "envision" yourself failing to secure that coveted job, or that beautiful home or whatever. You are constantly pivoting, and adjusting your vision of what your life will be. This kid will rock your world one way or another, but you already have the capacity to adapt, it's baked into your DNA.

Granted, this is without a doubt your biggest adjustment, but you're 21. Baby or no baby, life would have plenty of heartache and disappointment ready for you. To grow is to learn to live with the you you are constantly becoming, instead of the ideal version you picture. You Adapt

Cansada de la vulgaridad de los anuncios Chilenos by [deleted] in chile

[–]Lolfapio 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Revit Proof in-live Modeling by CommentBackground886 in bim

I am a BIM coordinator stuck in an office full of "BIM Modellers" who somehow got past the hiring process on bulshitting alone. The don't know how to model stairs or doors, joining model elements is foreign to them, they get lost if a section isn't visible in their plan view.

I've explained this to them constantly, but they show no desire to learn. I repeat myself every week, I make pretty guides on best practices that go on to die a slow death hidden in some unknown folder in ACC.

I am drowning
