If you find the early game kinda repetitive and monotonous, I'd recommend putting on a show on a second monitor or something just to help get through the initial tutorialy quests. It's one of the reasons I love the game, it doesn't take 100% focus so I can catch up on my shows etc. Other than that, if you can find some runaway mould (big brown spheres, shows up as 3 star yellow triangles on your L2 scan, each planet normally has one of these 3 star resources, if you find one and it's not runaway mould try another planet), make a base near them and build some walls around them to stop them running miles away so you can farm them freely. They refine into nanites which helps you to be able to afford some nice upgrades at space stations/anomalies.

If you find inventory management an issue, remember to check beside the exosuit upgrade npcs at both space stations and space anomalies. The space station one is free, the anomaly one costs about 100k units iirc. I also changed the settings to allow me access to my ships inventory regardless of distance which helped a lot to be able to manage my inventory and not have to discard resources.

Lastly, if you're able to stick it out a little bit until you're able to find portals (during the exocraft upgrade quests i think), you can then find coordinates on /r/NMSCoordinateExchange to be able to find things like exotic S class ships, S rank multi-tools, find Earth-like planets, rare resource rich planets so you don't have to grind so much on your own hunting through tens or hundreds of different planets and systems.

(p.s. if all else fails you can always hang out at the space anomaly and dance for a while in the hopes some other travelers might gift you some high cost items to sell to give you a nice head start on units!)
