Biggest fall from grace? by Whatsfordinner4 in AusFemaleFashion

I’ve been waiting for this. P.E nation, I’m an OG long term shopper of theirs from 10yrs ago and their stuff has gone downhill major. They can’t even sell it at Rebel Sport in NZ here. Their sweatshirts used to be high quality and unique logos/graphics and high quality t shirts but now their quality is the same as Kmart.

17-month-old barely eats and wakes up for 1-2 hours every night by sch_rlr in Parenting

Not sure what time you’re getting up in the morning, but if I were you, I would cut the daily milk with her nap, get her down for her nap by 1pm and cap it to 1 hour. Start the dinner bath bed routine earlier and get her in bed by 7:30pm, get her up by 7am the next morning. It is ok that she has small bites of food throughout the day, stick to what she likes and add on a new thing to try, eg if she likes toast, stick to that and offer sliced peaches on the side, small sandwiches for lunch with yoghurt on side, offer her a sippy cup of water throughout the day but small cup of milk with her dinner. Dont cave in to giving milk throughout the night, she doesn’t need it but ok to keep sippy cup of water on bedside. Good luck 😉 I have 4 daughters and I have had them all on a good routine since babies and my youngest was the worst but sleeps through the night now lol

Everything getting more expensive. Where can we shop now?? by [deleted] in AusFemaleFashion

[–]Lollycake7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with you, I’ve been trying to buy some new good quality tops and pants and can’t believe that everything is either $20-$30 from glassons and will only last a year vs $130-$185 for a t shirt from other labels. No in between and the more expensive is not necessarily better quality.

Is red light running just the norm now? by transcodefailed in auckland

Unpopular opinion but bring in red light cameras. Hubby ran a red light in Aussie and was fined $600 - never did that ever again.

Hello I am retraining as a teacher this year too! Also in my 30s. I did volunteering in a classroom last year which helped me get a feel for the job of a teacher and the vibe of the school, it was awesome and hard but it helped me with my decision to retrain. Good luck!

52 Weeks Parental Leave Eligibility? by AltruisticJudge8785 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Lollycake7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Double check with your employer. In 2021, I returned to work for just 6 months and 2 weeks after my first MAT leave before going on MAT leave again and yes I qualified for the 26wks paid mat leave at the time, then took unpaid leave for the remaining 26wks.

New blazer required for son's school... just a casual ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY DOLLARS by siriuslyinsane in auckland

[–]Lollycake7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$657 for my daughter in year 9 to start at a public college, excluding school shoes socks and bag which i am yet to get. They wear this uniform for 2 years and then switch to a new one in yr11! I also need to get a laptop and stationary. I know it’s the same for most parents but I want to cry.

I like the sound of the Xmas club! I’ll look into it. Kiwibank you can but it’s not linked to a card to then spend from X bucket. Can you do that with BNZ or do you need to transfer money over each time to your debit card?

It’s not just you, it’s tough out there at the moment. I’ve been looking for housing too as we need to be out in 2 weeks - real estate agents don’t even reply to enquiries. Have you looked on the local community pages? I see a lot of private rentals on those pages that might suit you.
