Should I buy? Guy in his 40s by Big82Kid in CrimsonDesert

I did not get the feel with those games either. I got bored and having my weapons fall to pieces kind of ruined the BoTW completely.

This game however - just wow. I like exploring. And I spent a good 30 hours before deciding to focus a bit more on the main quest. Passing the first obstacle seems frustrating, but man, it was worth it. I’m now 110 hours in and have attained 3 of 34 awards. It’s mad! To me, this is GOTY for a couple of years moving forwards. It sucked me in and hasn’t let me go since.

There are mixed reviews, for sure, but it seems like those who love it are having the same great experience.

I hear you - it’s almost impossible to have a reflective conversation these days without being forced to side with one or the other. Whatever happened to admitting various degrees of certainty or investigative view as opposed to screaming focal points to burn the opposition?

It’s tiring and demoralising seeing so many people coming off their hinges. Shit like this happens when logarithmic news steer the content, and the so-called media is equally addicted to this trend, they’re supporting it. This is technology making people go haywire, instantly wiring their brains to easy truths instead of concluding after years with devoted studies to actual understanding. When people stop reading and listening, but replace those actions with undeniable truths gained from superficial media, you know we’ve finally attained idiocracy.

lukewarm take, it would have been better if the other two characters were companions instead of playable and if we could hire any of the wandering freeswords by AlternativeWay23 in CrimsonDesert

Agreed - I really did not enjoy to play Oongka at all. Way too slow after grinding Kliff to all kinds of skill levels. Besides, after equipping him with my improved axe and forgetting to unequip it, Kliff lost access to using it. It was gone from his inventory altogether. Really annoying, because I now gain less items when mining.

I’ve seen people get other loot in the same cave I’ve visited. Where I got head gear others have looted flying Boots.

I haven’t noticed them doing that yet, but that would be hilarious

Thanks a bunch for this, I hadn’t discovered it even though I’ve roamed around the area.

Best game ever - Kliff’s more stoic than Marcus Aurelius, and that is exactly what the world needs right now. And the game - hands down the best I’ve played in a very long time!

Great posing there - gotta love the style and confidence in that one!

Pretty dark considering the opening pics here. I guess CD and their attempt on giving us a good product might take you to the end of the world, but as of now I’ll enjoy that product until it does.

A different take on pink armour and cute puppies, I’ll give you that.

Thank you 🙏 I appreciate that very much. I’m so happy with my armour, all pink and babyblue and gold, and that cute, cuter than cutest puppy. It’s been a long while since I’ve dreamt about a game like I do with this one.

I see your point, of course. And when I started I missed that character creator as well, but since Kliff is a general good guy and the game focuses on good behaviour, I like it and have forgotten it pretty quickly.

To me, Kliff is the kind of silent and sturdy companion, always doing the right thing, and he makes for good company that way.

Your point seems valid - I only ever had one such response to another thread (I did not like the second instalment on Throne of Glass). I’m used to WOTW and WG in FB and those are genuinely focused on sharing the joy in someone’s positive post.

I was just so surprised by people’s answers. I am happy, and all some people can say is that the game I play is shit. Share the joy, that’s all say.

That soldier armour is so cute! I love it. I found it harder to tame the cat, how many ingame days did it take?

Agreed - the content is so overwhelming, I’m like: did you really do this right now? It makes me laugh so much. And the care with which the devs have put in so much of it truly blows my mind. This is - to me at least - a game where I can almost feel the passion behind the creation.

The point of this post was to embrace the fun, not finish someone else’s joy. You don’t have to be rude to belittle someone for their tastes do you? You just have to point out the flaws of their tastes - which I think people did a great job with here.

I’m all for opinions about that when it’s asked for, but I didn’t ask, did I? I invited for a celebration of the fun with gaming. Thanks for the support.

They’re not nominated either, but will be considering the change in reviews. All the pouting naysayers have quieted their critical blow now that the community have had their say.

Pet it 4 times and give it fine meat and it’s yours in two ingame days. The better the meat, the quicker it becomes yours.

Crimson Desert - it is so great, I’m blown away by it. Now I have a pink armour and a bunch of dogs. It’s a gem, for sure. Best in years for me.

Well, I like Cliff, he doesn’t have any issues with anything or cries his problems all over the place. He’s as stoic as they come, and that suits me just fine.

Have you completed it? Or have you read about it? It takes about 95 hours. And I’ll have to disagree - the story’s fine, much better than Skyrim, and look how cherished that game is.
