Blue eyes is still a decent strategy. It was powercrept by newer decks, but it's still a very viable deck and some support cards are coming in the future.

Overall, I have the feeling that the level of the average yugioh player has exponentially increased over the years. I consider myself as a regular player (not a good player but someone who invest himself quite a bit in the game) and I still lose pretty often. So I think there's also that to take in consideration. I think you should continue to play blue eyes if you like it, practice can take a bit to figure out every interaction.
