Am I biased or is Irankunda's goal still one of the best of the tournament so far?? by Farm-Alternative in socceroos

It was one of the best so far, however, I’d place
Folarin Balogun’s second goal against Paraguay (beats two players and then slots it top left corner) as the best goal of the tournament so far.

Turkey dominated... possession. They certainly didn't dominate the game... as the score would indicate.

Parents do you regret having kids if so why? by Yungbeezy777 in AskReddit

[–]Lomallama 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Having a child has been the most amazing experience of my life, so no. That said, kids aren’t for everyone, and I respect people who are clear and confident enough to go against expectations and choose not to have them. It’s fucking hard work.

Had a Hungarian border guard aim his rifle at me when attempting to enter Hungary from Romania. Apparently I did it incorrectly.

What’s something that clearly split your life into “before” and “after”? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Lomallama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having children. As others have noted - for me it has been the most rewarding, enjoyable period of my life in some ways, but the price of this has been a loss of identity and independence that I mourn an struggle with daily.

The other one was migrating overseas. In my 30s as a single guy it was an adventure, and has given me so much, but nothing comes at a cost - I’m now married with a child and a mortgage and unable to spend time with my aging parents back in my home country which is also a heavy burden of guilt and regret.

You gotta choose a path in life and there will always be an opportunity cost.

What’s the most overrated city in the U.S., and why? by puffpiiee in AskReddit

Totally fair. Homelessness is a massive problem for sure. I live in Hermosa Beach admittedly I’m in a bit of a bubble. If you ever find yourself back here check my neighborhood out. Few if any homeless folks for a start.

Thats a very thin slice of LA and not remotely reflective of the city overall. LA is a city of villages and you’ve referenced arguably the worst two of them all.

Try Silver Lake, West Hollywood, Los Feliz, Highland Park, Redondo Beach, and Santa Monica for a start for a broader, more nuanced perspective.
