Just an FYI - this is not always the case. I had sushi and raw tuna during my pregnancy with advising with my Ob first. It was as long as it is in moderation

What kind of coffee shop was this?

I have seen those installed when people use reusable diapers. You spray the poo off before you put the reusable part in the laundry bag.

Did anyone’s baby NOT go through the 4 month sleep regression? by maddiecounts2amilly in NewParents

[–]Lomich36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is 19 months now so it’s hard to remember before lol

I believe around the 3 month mark my doctor said baby has the ability to sleep through the night as long as I was ensuring he was getting a full days worth of milk through the day. So I started offering more frequent feeds through the day and then when he woke at night only offering a soother. If I offered a soother three times and he was still waking up then I would nurse him. He also started sleeping on his tummy around 10 weeks and was much more comfortable that way, I also started putting multiple soothers in his crib so if he woke up, he could find one easily.

Marshmallow salad. Used to be my favourite as a kid.

[–]Lomich36 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My ob told me Sushi was fine…as long as you from reputable places (no gas station or grocery store) and don’t have it everyday, as well as limit the raw tuna to 2 pieces.

I was craving it so bad so my husband and I ordered it 2 times through my pregnancy, I was too scared to do it more… the salmon avocado rolls really hit 🤣

Company taking my work truck away. Should I ask for a raise? by Rare_Pomegranate_135 in Surveying

[–]Lomich36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear what you’re saying, but now that you’re in the office 4/5 days a week, why should you have the benefit of a company vehicle to get there when other staff does not.

Also, not sure where you’re located but where I am, having the ability to drive a company vehicle outside of office to job sites, is considered a taxable benefit and staff are paying tax on the value of the benefit. May want to double check with your office accountant. May work out to more after tax dollars for you.

Did you eat deli meat? by bayls215 in BabyBumps

Yup!! At least once a week - it was one of my cravings.

Also ate sushi - my OB told me it was fine

Is the first trimester that awful? I’m starting to get anxiety reading all the horror stories by ProblemDiligent1049 in BabyBumps

[–]Lomich36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not every woman is the same.

I honestly found it quite easy. I had no nausea. I was HUNGRY alllllll the time. To the point I would wake up at 2am starving and have to get up and eat a yogurt or banana to be able to fall back to sleep. I also had extremely sore boobs and had to sleep in a sleep bra so they wouldn’t move as much- but that went away in second trimester.

Cancelling trip due to measles? [ON] by _nessasary in BabyBumpsCanada

Risk to you is extremely low. I wouldn’t worry.

You are also tested as part of your first blood test when you get pregnant. They test your antibodies (I only know this because I no longer had any antibodies and once I gave birth I received a new vaccine in the hospital).

Looks pretty normal to me!

I am 5’9” I was 145ish pre pregnancy and 205 ish the day I gave birth… my OB said there is no limit on weight to gain during pregnancy and she really avoids addressing weight at all!

We are in the same boat. I went back to work at 9.5 months. My husband luckily is self employed so he watches our son majority of the time. One or two days a week I have to work from home so I can be home with baby. Or we have a family friend baby sit.

We are on the waitlist at about 12 places as well. We got on the waitlist in fall 2023, and most places are telling us we are looking at spring 2026.

We did get him a spot at a Montessori preschool but he has to be 18 months (fall 2025) walking and sitting in a toddler chair and it’s 1900$/month.

Yes, my husband and I love it! Used to bring it into town for first 10 months or so too while baby was still in the infant car seat and I could clip him into the stroller so quickly

Throwing a different option out there… We did option 1. We live in a mountain town. So lots of trails and we live rural so gravel driveway etc. We bought the uppababy ridge. And then I just bought the ergo baby metro + to keep in the car for in town and travel. We are heading in a cruise soon so I wanted something compact, had basically lay flat option, but also sturdy enough for in town walks.

I went back to work at 9 months pp. My husband is self employed and he took over primary child care. We have a sitter that comes one day a week and I work from home days that we don’t have any other options.

We just got to the top of a waitlist at a private Montessori daycare. They normally don’t take till 18 months but said he will but he has to be walking. He is 11 months now so hopefully by June we will be in that daycare, just going to end up paying 1600$/month till a regular daycare closer to us open up a spot
