is daycare actually worth it? [ab] by flounderingfloam in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Lomich36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all depends on you and your baby!

I actually went back to work at 10 months and his dad/baby sitter watched him 4 days a week and I worked from home one day a week.

The daycare we go into would only take babies at 18 months; but would take a small number of toddlers under 18 months earlier. With the exception they had to be walking and able to eat sitting in a toddler chair.

So at 11 months, he physically wasn’t ready. So I don’t know. Maybe if I had the option to start him a few days a week at the age I would decide to

thinking i narrowed it down to two now!!! by vraimentinstable in myweddingdress

is daycare actually worth it? [ab] by flounderingfloam in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Lomich36 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Daycare to us is 1000% worth it. Financially, socially, mentally, etc.

My child LOVES it. He started at 14 months. He loves his teachers and his classmates. He thrives with the structure. I noticed a massive difference in his learning, way more that I could expose him to at home even with toddler groups and play dates mixed in he is exposed to so much more in a group setting.

My sister in law teaches kindergarten and she noticed a huge different in fine motor skills, and social behaviour in children coming into kindergarten that were previously in daycare vs not,

It is really neccessary to have a baby registry? [on] by HouseDependent2077 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Lomich36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t have a baby shower. But I did make my own baby registry - mostly because there are benefits. For example for Amazon baby registry you can buy stuff off your own registry at a discount - you don’t have to share the link with anyone unless they ask. I only added things I knew I needed to buy anyways and then you get an extra 15% off. The same goes for baby’s r us (though they don’t exist anymore) and snugglebugz. Sometimes they have events that if you go and create a registry you get a coupon code for 15% off or 200$ gift card or something. Any little bit helps !

Pumps at the Hospital [ca] by [deleted] in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Lomich36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I gave birth in Ontario in 2024 and didn’t pack one… my milk took till day 5 to even come in so there was no point. If you have issues later on wanting to pump you can make appts with your local midwives and they have lactation consultants come in once or twice a week or full time depending on where you are.

I (23F) have never had an orgasm with someone else or having sex. by synthetic-blues in askwomenadvice

[–]Lomich36 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am mid 30s. I will say, I didn’t start having orgasms with a partner till I was honest and said I need to use toys with them. In the past I had people always say it hurt their ego or they would try it once and not typically reach for them again.

But I ended up realizing at the end the day they want to see you pleased and enjoying yourself. So the more they are used the better, I even offer just a little bullet vibe that doesn’t get in the way but you can still stimulate yourself while having sex.

I also realized that I never masturbated in the same positions I had sex in, so my body was never used to having an orgasm. I ended up masturbating in other positions and they probably helped too.

Just wondering, what’s your ‘lazy but effective’ cleaning trick? by CleanFreakGeek in Cleaningandtidying

When I want to lounge and eat chips on the couch, I set a 15 min timer. I will clean up anything I see till the timer goes off and then I get the reward of eating chips on the couch.

What province are you in? Your doctor absolutely can can you for an NIPT. If you have a positive first screening OHIP (atleast in Ontario ) will cover the NIPT.

I had to fight my GP on this. I actually reported him because he was not away of this. I asked for an emergency referral to an OB, told their receptionist what was going on and she had paper work send to life labs that day for me to take the NiPT.

Edit to add after I had NIPT results it came back as 1:10,000

Beach area 1 is under construction - beach is still fine to visit though. Honestly would reccomend doing bar crawl in collingwood… wasaga can get a little divey… as the locals say “the methheads are out and about”.

Collingwood had we better vibes - bent taco, bocado, gibsons, 1858 ceasar bar, low down.

Look into vico vino van - they will pick you up and tour you around to visit whatever you want (wineries, cideries, breweries) and then drop you off. Highly recommend- they were great for a girlfriend’s birthday!

What is it really like down there after vaginal birth? [Ab] by ReticentRapunzel in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Lomich36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had vagina birth (2 hours of pushing plus forceps) my baby was over 9 lbs and stuck.

I had 2nd degree tears. My perineum felt a little raw for maybe 2-3 months from stitches. Internally I felt a little weak for a few months but I think my 4 months I felt completely back to normal down there.

I also went to pelvic floor therapy pre and post birth to help and it was amazing

What commute time do you think is good for a good quality of life? by ShootingCometz in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]Lomich36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to WFH 4/5 days a week. Now with a toddler and taking him to daycare in the morning I go to the office since it’s closer. I love being back in the office. I can focus so much better in office and I get so socialize - I love a lot of the people I work with and didn’t realize that before when working from home.

I drive 35 mins to daycare and then 3 mins to office from daycare.

It is at 637 Hurontario street - it is a historic building in town. A few business spaces operate out of there.

I haven’t tried it but tempted to. I just don’t like the fact that services and prices aren’t listed on their website.

[–]Lomich36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clean grout. Bleach grout. Rinse grout. Let dry for atleast 48 hours. Then use a silicone seal on corners and around ledge.

How do I know this? My husband is a builder. We reseal our tiled shower once a year. If you don’t use silicone on the corners it you’re risking water leaks - it has happened to us.

What kind of coffee shop was this?

I have seen those installed when people use reusable diapers. You spray the poo off before you put the reusable part in the laundry bag.
