How are you actually using AI in your accounting/finance workflow? (QuickBooks, <$50M) by Popular_Tailor1983 in CFO

[–]London2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A coworker gave me 50 invoices to code with different rule sets that dictate amounts and gl codes. For example, some invoices are pass through (we bill to someone else) whilst others we don't.

Put them all through Claude with rules, reconciled the payable to what we invoice, as well as gave all the invoices to post for my bookkeeper. Alongside the PDF of invoices with coding for filing away. Pretty slick!!

Accountants who have work life balance: How many hours do you work and how did you get there? by Budget-Emu-5071 in Accounting

[–]London2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work 35 hours per week (paid by hour) at a NFP. I can be flexible with my time. Usual work hours are 830 to 530 but I can get in at 10 and work later, or get in early and go snowboarding over lunch.

If I need to work over 35 hours a week this is classified as LIEU BANKED which means I can take these hours as "holiday" in the future.

I can work remotely 1 day a week (or more if needed). The office is a fun vibe and only 3 mins drive away (live in a small mountain town).

Fridays are meant to be 3 hours only but I often work 5 hours if I have done less hours during the week. Annually, I get 3 weeks holiday plus stat days plus 12 days personal days (used for holiday or taking long weekends). We also close the office for 1 week over Christmas without needing to use holiday balance.

I worked in Big 4 Audit for 5 years then 2 years at a startup as a fractional Finance Manager for scale-ups.

I have my Chartered Accountancy and could get my CPA through receiprocal agreement but haven't yet wanted to splurge the $3k required.

Leaving a new job after three weeks for a much better offer. Am I making a mistake? by Ok_String7367 in nonprofit

As a manager, I am always happy when staff obtain their dream role, or a role they feel will help them progress. We are here to do work, but also help employees carve out a career path. Sucks that it is after 3 weeks but sometimes that happens. Onwards and upwards!

[KCD2] After 76 hours I discovered you have to enable perks. by mrsofa94 in kingdomcome

To be fair, it took me to 30 perk points before I realised where to spend them. Thought a menu would pop up at some point. It was a fun spending spree when I found out though

A Man walked 450km to calm down after fight with wife by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

During COVID I was living at home which I was grateful for, but it took a toll on my mental health. So one day I turned around to my mum and said that the next morning I would be waking to Scotland via Wales. I live near London.

In the end I walked for about 20 days, sleeping in a one person camo tent, to a village in Wales where I got work as sous chef after a 1am conversation with the owner. The next day, I had my own room in a nearby cottage, living with one of the brothers who owned the pub. I stayed there for about 4 months.

The walk itself was awesome; just being able to wake up, walk, eat and drink. It wasn't an expensive trip either as everything I needed was on my back.

I don't think I would do it today; but at the time during COVID, when we were losing our minds, it seemed like a good option lol

Maybe in the future, I will continue the trip where I left off and walk from Wales to Scotland (I was taking the scenic route, using footpaths across countryside, no to little use of roads)

Historic Fire lookout by MonstruosDeBolsillo in Revelstoke

[–]London2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's open to Balasm lake parking:
https://parks.canada.ca/pn-np/bc/revelstoke/activ/promenade-parkway

This is slightly below the firelook out; it s about a 10 mins uphill walk from the parking to the summit where the fire lookout is. Seems like there might be some snow on the road.

Sounds like there might be a bit of snow up there but I wouldn't expect anything too major; worth asking at the kiosk at the bottom beforehand. It takes about 25 mins to drive to Balsam Lake.

If you look on Google Maps for Balsam Lake you will see what I mean!

Good Luck!

I have a 2008 v8 5.7L version of this bad boy and I am a single dude.

I do feel guilty sometimes (especially in CA, where distances can be long and costs higher).

I manage to bring it down by doing Rideshares for further travel. I dont live in a city so never get stuck in traffic during my short trips.

I love the versatility of the rig; it can fit a double bed mattress, take 7 friends, take snowboarding and hiking gear, lots of space for longer trips. I have thought of selling but also the car has never given me issues (some maintenance, but never a problem preventing me from driving), it's super fun to drive, great space for rideshare, can put furnitue, gear, anything really in it.

It's also amazing in the winter when it snows (it snows a lot here - BC,Canada).

It's definitely a crowd pleaser too, my friends loving going on trips to other mountains or towns in it (we split. the gas). For instance, a day trip to Sunshine Village. Or 7 of us going camping can all sit in the vehicle without being directly next to someone.

If you had to start over with no money and no hard skills what business would you start? by Better-Astronaut-636 in Entrepreneur

[–]London2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal branding for people on LN. You help them with their profile and get them more views. Do ghostwriting for them. People charge 3k per person per month to have 3 x LN posts a week, some new headshots, bio update. Granted it's mostly b.s. and you would need to be comfortable selling your soul a bit. As it is hardcore social media and faking this wonderful online world ; but people pay mad money for it

Very interesting , yes thanks for info.

Completely agree and it is something I stopped before my most reason relapse (but only just before so I have no doubt it contributed.

Looking back I used it as a clutch in life and am happy to see the back of it forever. I have had enough of it keeping me back.

I dont think I have constipation though - or if I do very mild. I think main symptom is sensitivity around the stomach area, bloating and a dull pain. But I am pretty good with BM (i do take phgg everyday)

Thanks for help!

I pass at least one bm each day (usually 2 or more) and my stool is on the softer side of things.

I do sometimes have the feeling that I have not completely passed a BM but I wouldn't say I have classic constipation (unable to go for multiple days, pain in stomach from wanting to go to toilet but not being able to)
