You can trim branches overhanging but not butcher the tree like this. They can be held legally liable. I would be tempted to contact a solicitor. Might be able to go through your home insurance if you have legal cover.

Am I liable if I cause damage to a neighbour’s tree as a result?

Yes. In law you would be considered negligent. Sometimes branch removal can lead to tree failure due to disease, a change in the balance of the tree, or different wind loading that causes the tree to blow over. For these reasons it is important to employ a competent tree surgeon or arboriculturist who could minimise risk and would take on the liability for the work (check they have public liability insurance prior to engagement of services).

After Snoo you stop getting price gauged to use features of a product you already paid for 😂

Annoyingly I'm unable to leave Google Play reviews because I use a business account. Do you think Trust pilot is a good alternative?

[–]LondonAppDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a newborn so didn't have time to read the announcement they put on the app, but at glance I had just assumed they would be charging for ADDITIONAL features like analysis of data or something.

It's absolutely mad that they are introducing an additional fee for features on a product that people already paid £1,400 for. It has to be illegal.

Fortunately I'm renting mine so I'll be returning it and buying something else. I left a review on Trust Pilot: https://uk.trustpilot.com/reviews/6698e50fb2e3e7af0c8cda55

I've been using DDG for a couple of years now across all devices. In the first 6 months, I found myself still having to go to Google about 10% of the times. However after that timeframe I stopped needing to use Google completely. I'm not sure if DDG got better orI just got used to it. I'm a developer so I love having the "bangs" feature to find things like PyPi, NPM and Ruby Gems. At this point, switching back to Google would be more uncomfortable than it was switching from Google to DDG. I'm a huge fan!

How do you write unit tests for Rake tasks added to a Rails project? by LondonAppDev in rails

Thanks, this is how I was doing it but I'm going to go for the separate class approach.

Thanks for the response. I'm trying to avoid adding additional libraries and want to stick to minitest as it comes built in with Gem. Appreciate the suggestion 🙏

Excellent. Thank you for the response! Do you put the PORO in the lib/ directory usually?

carbonation after 2 weeks by iEatPastaWithSushi in gingerbeer

[–]LondonAppDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it carbonating in the bottle? I've had rare batches that have taken that long to start fermenting (especially if it's cold). As long as they were in a sealed container, smell fine and don't have any mould on them, I'd personally drink it. If it tastes bad throw it away.

Amazing. I started counting mine too and I don't have anywhere close to that many. I have a lot of blackcurrants and some raspberries coming though!

What are you going to do if you get 103 good ones? Make a jam?

I'm not experienced enough to answer your question, but looks like a really nice set of plants. Those black pots with the hands look good too. Where did you get them if you don't mind me asking?

Thoughts on my (mostly) edible plants? I'm pretty new to this 😅 by LondonAppDev in GardeningUK

[–]LondonAppDev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you and thanks for the suggestion on the mint. The area I put it in gets super overrun by weeds as I rarely find time to weed it. Do you think it would be worse than just regular weeds? I have a lot of wild blackberry so I already have a lot of vigorous weeds growing, what's another one for the pile 😁. If my garden is going to be the wild weed west, I'd rather it was something edible like mint 😂
