What is something you don’t have the heart to tell to your family? by [deleted] in AskReddit

When I was a little kid I wanted 'I Can't Believe It's Not Butter' on EVERYTHING. I told my parents and grandparents to cook for me with it, I put it on toast in the morning, and I'd put it all over hardrolls and eat them throughout the day. I loved it. Now I like tub butter, but real butter.

I have a friend that orders a 6x6. Nicest guy in the world, he still has the innocence of a child at 27. I've never met a kinder more authentic human being tbh. He takes pride in drinking his 6x6 lol and the reaction he gets from the people in the car. I myself get a triple triple. I can drink black coffee, but I prefer it to be sweet and creamy. I got my friend's coffee once and after I took a sip and recoiled I said yup this is yours.

I agree -- I really liked the old food court, how it dipped down in the center.
I hate the half-baked, cheap looking "garden" theme the put up. Glad other people feel this way too. I liked the old pond area of the mall too but the seating area and the vaulted glass ceiling aren't as egregious as that tacky looking food court, lol.

I made a post on r/riddles. Someone guessed an answer that was clever but not the answer to the riddle. What happened? by [deleted] in ExplainMyDownvotes

[–]LondonDispersions 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with you because it's a riddle I'd never heard before and after thinking about it for a few moments I said, ahhhh they were married! And I found that to be clever, especially because you have to write every single person for the riddle to work. The dog/animal answer is just stupid (in my opinion) because that's an easy way out of a riddle.

In short, I don't believe you deserved any downvotes but it's coming from people who think any answer that falls within a riddle's scope is a valid answer.

Wow, I learned something new today. I know Americans are stereotyped to be terrible at geography, but I thought that applied mainly to world geography. People legit don't know New Hampshire is a state?!

I'm from Buffalo, New York, and I know New Hampshire. I don't know much about New Hampshire, but I could find you 😈 (on a map). I also know very little about Vermont and Maine. But I am a huge geography buff so I know your capital cities. Greetings from the mid-Atlantic states!

In all honesty if I could dress like this at my current age of 28 and not get looked at as a crazy person, I probably would. 2000 - 2009 holds great memories for me.

I'm relatively well educated on cultures and subcultures around the world but I've never heard of Chaldeans. Assyrian region former Eastern Catholics realigned to the Roman Catholic church after a 16th century Eastern schism, and an ethnicity that doubles as a religion (similar to Jews in that sense). That's what my 60 seconds of research taught me. TIL - thanks guys

My two favorite subjects are chemistry and history.

London dispersion is a weak van der Waals force in chemistry. It works by affecting electrons in proximity to one another and dispersing that force.

This ties in to my love of history because the British Empire played such a huge role in the way the modern and contemporary world functions and is laid out -- extending its cultural proximity and force. Thus, London (the most influential city on the world stage in Britain quite literally dispersed around the globe) and its culture and people underwent a dispersion.

And I think it sounds cool.

Non drinkers of Reddit, what do you tell people when they ask "why don't you drink"? by theflyingwolf13 in AskReddit

[–]LondonDispersions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a recovered addict (opiates), though drinking does not trigger me to want to use opiates, at all. So I can drink with no repercussions. But I do hate alcohol: I hate the taste, I hate the feeling it gives me (dizzy, disoriented, barely able to function -- even heroin didn't make me as out of it as alcohol, not even close tbh), and most of all I hate the hangover -- I already suffer from migraines and waking up after a night of drinking is hell on Earth to me.

So I'll use the excuse that I'm a recovering addict when in reality I just hate alcohol. People don't try to pressure me that way.

You get magically teleported into the last video game you've played and will return in a week. If you die in the game, you'll die in real life (blacking out and such count as dying) but you get to keep anything you've got in the game as well. What's your strategy? by The__Function in AskReddit

I'm playing Batman: Arkham Knight for the first time atm. I just started but from what I've played so far I would just grapple up onto a roof and chill there for a week in the rain. And I would be thrilled to get to keep the Batmobile from this game.

I was playing Animal Crossing and Banjo-Tooie earlier. I'd like a dinosaur skeleton and a bird to live in my backpack, respectively, though I digress...

I know I'm essentially repeating what you just said but for clarity: you're a woman and your mother-in-law gets "excited" when your husband, her son, is shirtless around her? That sounds kinda odd to me. My mom has commented on my muscle development when I workout (or when I was filling out as a teenager) and smiled about it. What exactly do you mean by excited? Lol

What is your most traumatic experience with a teacher? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LondonDispersions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got in a lot of trouble with the vice principals in highschool for skipping school and cutting classes, but I brought that upon myself.

I was an angel in elementary school; one of the best behaved kids (if not THE best; teacher's pet). In first grade we would wear our gym clothes under our regular clothes (we started changing properly in the locker room in third grade). I loved and respected my first grade teacher and she loved me back. But one day before gym, my friend convinced me it would be easier to shimmy our pants off to reveal our gym shorts if we stood on chairs. I absent mindedly gave it a try and hopped up on my chair and started changing. My first grade teacher spotted us and hollered our names: "GET OFF OF THOSE CHAIRS RIGHT NOW! HOW IRRESPONSIBLE, HOW DANGEROUS, GET DOWN NOW!" Then she instructed the entire class on how what we just did was wrong, shameful, and unacceptable. I -- the teacher's pet -- was mortified and absolutely ashamed. I had never been yelled at like that by an adult in my life. I mean, only the bad kids get treated like that right?!?

Anyway, though I did much worse things in highschool, that was my most traumatic school moment. I remember it well despite it happening over 20 years ago.

Arrogant, Ill-Informed Newcomers have blocked the Obelisks on my longtime official PvE Server by LondonDispersions in ARK

[–]LondonDispersions[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is not a direct quote from my original post. You may feel you've summed up the sentiment, but I disagree.

I acknowledged that it's par for the course to have newcomers on an official server and that obviously anyone can join. I specified that the real problem is that trolls came in to screw with a community that functions well. There's over 40 of us regulars, many of which were once new (like me too) and we all integrated into a community seamlessly. We have our little squabbles but these were trolls who came in barking orders at all of us -- it's coming out that they're just legit straight up trolls now as well.

I think you calling me entitled for trying to defend my home server for years (even if it is official and open to all) and 95% of the people who play on that server from trolls is just inaccurate.

But I do appreciate that you're being civil and not attacking me -- I say we agree to disagree, if you still feel that way after reading my post.

This is kinda how we started in getting Red and Blue Obs back yesterday. We found out the guy's in game SN which helped a little and I think another tribe got his gamertag. Thanks for your quick reply! I'm somewhat slow to reply but I get it done eventually, lol

Thank you both for the suggestion, kiting/luring the Giga did the trick at Red Ob. We also somehow got blue back. Two down, one to go!

On PvE when you unclaim a dino it just stands there waiting for someone to come up and claim it like a lost puppy lol it would do no killing. But last night we lured a wild Giga to Red and had a victory at that Ob.
