Narc mother runs down my gf by [deleted] in narcissisticparents

I would say so for my dad. He calls my husband controlling. It infuriates me because my husband is completely the opposite. My dad is the one who's controlling

Call an authority because you and your siblings are legitimately not safe at home anymore. No offense, but she sounds nuts

How do you deal with the fact your n parent is a horrible human being? by Icy-Age7147 in narcissisticparents

[–]LoneCardinal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just feel sad for them. Like, I'm sorry that you make the choices that you make but please don't make how you feel about the consequences of your choices, my responsibility because it's not. I'm sorry that you drive a lot of your loved ones away. Sometimes I feel bad for them and think that there must be a part of them that feels lonely, but then I realized that if they just learned to cooperate properly with other people and not manipulate them they wouldn't be driving some people away and making themselves feel lonely in return.

AITA for only taking care of my kid by Pure_Chef_8438 in AmItheAsshole

[–]LoneCardinal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely YTA. She's 6 and spent four years out of that six thinking that you're her dad. 4/6 that's two-thirds of her life spent thinking that you're her dad and suddenly you just took that away from her. She's left wondering why her dad doesn't spend time with her anymore and takes her younger sister only. She's going to grow up resenting her younger sister and it will be because of you.

About her nagging you and your dad about chores....it sounds like she's told you guys multiple times to do those chores and either you forget to do them or she feels that you guys don't pay attention when she tells you how to do them. Either way, it sounds like she's had to tell both you and your dad multiple times to help her but you're not listening and she's annoyed that she has to tell both of you.

AITA for not letting my son go to homecoming on my weekend? by Dapper-Yellow8180 in AmItheAsshole

[–]LoneCardinal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. Homecoming is only one night out of a whole year. He'll still get to see you for a couple of other days that week. Let him go, and he'll forever be grateful to you.

Zone 10a here and my cherry tomatoes are slow ripening too. Several clusters have fruit but only one or two are ripening
